I've bought a set of Porsche 18z 6 pot brakes with merc ml55 discs, I've gone to fit the caliper to find out it doesn't fit straight on as I was told it would (the caliper carrier dosent line upup with the disc), I've done a search to see if anyone is running this set up on their s3 8p and how they've got over the carrier issue. I'm assuming I need to buy a carrier kit but all the kits I've found only allow you to run a 330mm disc which seems pointless as most of the pad won't be on the disc.... Any help would be great

If they are 18z's then they bolt directly to the hub rather than using a bracket, are they 19z's instead? it will be cast onto the od of the caliper near to one end of it. have you got a picture of the calipers as they may be a different version?

There the 18z calipers I've been told it's because I've got the Ali hub not the cast , they definitely don't line up for a straight swap

May be worth trying to track down DaveB1970,or N8,or failing that speak to AwesomeGTi,who market some of DaveB's brake systems.

He's the man for putting together Audis using Porsche brakes etc,and may well be worth contacting him for help.

It looks like it's the hub that's the issue as they look the same as the 18z's I had!

As S3Alex has suggested, might be worth speaking to DaveB etc or look at possibly swapping the hubs depending which is easier/cheaper

Thanks for the help,I've just bought a set of Audi a3 cast hubs as I've been told they'll solve my problem.... Fingers crossed ..... I'll post when they've landed and fitted

Make sure youve got the 55mm ones for the struts as im sure normal a3s are 50mm, maybe the 3.2s are 55mm not too sure

Cheers
