Want to upgrade power and exhaust on my a5 2.7tdi any input would help thanks

A remap will help a lot, If you want some serious noise out of the exhaust you really have to remove the DPF, this acts as the biggest silencer by far in the system. The 2.7 TDI is limited by the smaller turbo on it compared to the 3.0 TDI so swapping for a GTB2260 off a 3.0 TDI will give you a lot more scope for power.
If you have a Multichronic gearbox and FWD as most 2.7 TDI's have then this will limit you on torque increases if you want to maintain gearbox reliability.
All things are possible you just need to decide how much you want to spend.
If you are anywhere near Manchester I can recommend Rick at Unicorn Motor Developments for a remap.

Thank I live walsall west midlands so not to far also will upgrade turbo and intercooler is the turbo hard to change and is it a bolt on fit also looking for cheap diy bbk for it any information would help

Hi, I work in Walsall and live just up the road near Cannock. Ricks place is not far from Manchester airport so it's an easy run and well worth it.
Have a look at my build thread, the Mishimoto intercooler is a good upgrade .
BBK aren't that cheap. You could upgrade to S4/S5 calipers on the front and 345mm discs, if you use the rear S4/S5 calipers you will end up with 330mm vented rear discs instead of 300mm solid discs.
I have changed to the Q5 4 pot Brembo calipers recently and these work well again with 345mm discs.
A remap on the standard car will give you around 230bhp I believe, A GTB2260 is good for around 310bhp on a 3.0 TDI so on a 2.7TDI would probably give you something like 270-280 bhp.
With a much bigger turbo Darkside had a 2.7 TDI close to 300bhp

A 3.0 TDI turbo would be a much better bet though as it's cheaper and better response, plus you have a weak gearbox and only FWD.
AFAIK the GTB1756 and GTB2260 turbo's have the same flange fittings and are a straight swap.

There are 2 Types of exhaust flanges on The gtb Turbos so YOU need to get The right one From the beginning. Also you need a new collector manifold as there are slight differences between the gtb1756vk and gtb2260vk. You might want to upgrade to later alloy intake manifold and FMIC. The job is far from plug and play but doable nevertheless !

Thanks for your help so a 3.0tdi turbo not a straight swap then

Not without The right adapter and a few minor nigles ! The beauty is that with a remap they do 280 Bhp ! Are you far from N. London ? I have worked on a few of these and got decent power out of the engine so tweaking it is no biggie !

Have you replaced your turbo yourself

Yes, I had to swap it over several times between the original one and the hybrid. Fortunately it's not that difficult to do with the turbo being on the top of the engine at the back.
