Has anyone tried these pads and discs at all?? It's coming up on time for a change and these seem a good deal... I know that if it seems to good to be true it usually is so just wondered if these are OK for just road use with no track work??

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251641883663

Thanks in advance!

Carlos

This is my thought as well but I don't just want to end up with a poor quality disc that warps early on or something... Obviously the pads should be oem quality being brembo...

The pads are fine.

The price is worryingly cheap.
I'm concerned that you'd not get much more than a set of uprated pads would give you.

It certainly would not be up to a trackday.

I have no intention of a track day at all and I do need discs as well that's why it appealed really as I have to replace them anyways, I don't expect the braking to be greatly different than stock really this just seemed a good deal...

But as I say I am aware that if it seems to good to be true it usually is!

It is but I think if you look at the cost of the pads alone you'll be scratching your head wondering how they've chucked in 4 discs as well.

ZeroSixty make good priced direct replacements but even they wouldn't match this.

Just trying to say that sometimes very cheap is too cheap or cheap for a reason.

DS2500 or Mintex 1144 pads alone would add more bite to stock discs.

Yeah that's the exact reason I was suspicious of the price to be fair and just wondered if anyone had any experience of them... I was already leaning towards not giving them a go but if someone said they had them and they were just a really good deal I would have took a punt as well haha...

Good idea.

Otherwise uprate the pads.

The pads look like they'll probably be ok but those discs look suspicious if anything, the holes look too close to the outer edge, the number of holes looks incorrect as if somebody has bought very cheap discs then asked their mate on a 5 axis milling machine to drill holes in the discs - the hole positioning in the cooling channels seems to suggest this also as the two bottom discs have the holes up against the walls of the veins. the drilled holes need to be cast into the rotor otherwise they crack when they get hot because of the stress

I have been quoted £330 fitted from a local garage that I have used a lot for pagid pads and discs fitted all around which seems a pretty good price so I may just do that as having had the same setup on my focus ST the brakes felt really good with the pagid stuff...

I'm not keen on the Brembo pads, they are not as good as the Brembo name suggests. They are not Brembo discs just some other low grade items, besides, drilled discs tend to crack around the holes whoever makes them.

For the road you can't go wrong with Pagid discs and pads bought from Eurocarparts, grip well hot and cold and last longer than the standard VAG oe parts.

What is the best deal out there at the minute for a front set.
Don't need anything special as it's never going to see a track :)

Cool. Think that will be good enough for me then :)

Well it ended up being pagid discs and pads fitted all around and two new rear calipers that were both seized... £670 all in!
