Facelift THE NEW AUDI A3 (2016 FACELIFT) – STILL AHEAD OF THE CURVE

Can someone tell me how to use a GIF so that at least I know how to do what I am not supposed to do...been tarred and feathered here, should be innocent until proven guilty and on the day that my auto subscription as a gold supporter kicked in!!!!!!!!!!!
It's just a pic Dave. Usually funny :)

I just learned today what they are as well. In simple terms they are silly pictures posted with messages on them or with them.

you learn something everyday, I thought they were animated thingy's
Dave, gif files can be animated or still images. We just trying to cut down on so many of them in this thread, that is all. lol

This thread could /should if edited correctly,be read only,if anyone is interested on starting a specific facelift specific topic thread carry on,it's inevitable that this A3/S3 forum will eventually give way to a face lift splinter group that's only natural.

Once again we agree. There must be something wrong. If this thread was made 'read only' then anything new from now on would have to go in to a new thread. As I've already suggested perhaps we should have a Facelift - Colours thread, a Facelift - Interiors, a Facelift - Current spec, a Facelift - purchase on PCP etc. It would certainly make find useful information easier. If one of the moderators would like to make the existing thread 'read only' I am quite happy to set up the new ones. The other option, as Jassy06 has mentioned would be a completely new section for the A3 2016 Facelift and then the various Colours, Interiors, Spec thread set-up under that.

What do others think?

Or someone prepared to make a q&a section for the fl that has links to the relevent threads?

Maybe a sticky thread "Facelift 2016- A3/S3" (read only) with links inside to specific threads like: Colours, Infotainment, Driving aids, Issues, etc..
or whatever the names are so that we can discuss the colours in one thread, the media, vc, maps, sound systems in another, magride, wheels, suspension in another, acc and all the driving aids in another, etc...

Dave the less complicated the better it will be for the new guys....a wee sections all of there own, not total segregation

Ask the lmproved Product guys what they think lol, give it a poll or whatever

I don't mind making up new threads but we've not really heard from those who have ordered a FL yet? I don't think this needs to be read only.

As someone new to Audi and awaiting delivery of an S3, I'm finding the thread OK as it is. Took a bit of an effort to get caught up, but now I'm on top of it - fine. Ok - like any forum thread it goes off piste occasionally. Perhaps a new thread for owners as they start taking delivery with pics and comparisons from pre FL cars.

Lovely car mate bet you are made up! I am glad the interior is white I personally prefer it over the red. I don't think your mad polishing your car on day one haha, I would 100% be doing the same if it wasn't perfect.

I would say the LED lights around the door trims are the £200 extra as it pretty much makes sense. Wish it was clearer when I ordered but it's nothing to complain over.

Could you take a picture of the trims in daylight including dashboard, that way - if they are the same style / colour I've seen then the addition of the LED lights has to be the £200 extra. No rush just when you get chance mate

Sorry could only put pics of the trims on.. I'll do dashboard tomorrow but am in bed with sickness and dioheara at moment

I find this tread okay but heavily biased towards the S3. Would like to see the thread divided between S3 and A3
or Petrol v Deisel
Well that maybe because most members on this thread "at the moment" have the S3 on order but it will change, as will the entire thread once the novelty of the facelift car has diminished, but to split the thread between petrol and derv is just pointless

Just to be awkward I prefer all of the info in this thread as I just keep the tab open and keep refreshing it :) If there are multiple threads I'd have to keep checking them all and it will probably be the same amount of irrelevant posts in each of those threads and increase the irrelevant to useful ratio :-o

I concur..everything under one roof!..and as Jassy said the excitement of the FL will fade shortly and this thread will drop down the charts!

It has been a good ride though following the frustrating progress of the FL.... mine is due in approx 8 weeks ...by which time most of the first bank of orders will have been fulfilled and we will be starting a new thread on the all new A3...which is being released late next year ..with 6 new shades of white..... (I make a joke )

Do the 2016 Facelift cars still have 8V as the 7th and 8th digits in their VIN number or have Audi decided to give the Facelift models a new code.

Hi mate, can confirm that the 7th and 8th digits of my facelift's VIN are 8V

Knew I'd seen it somewhere in the back end of the yourAudi site (the full model code is below), when I went to find it I discovered yourAudi has now been updated with my VIN, so I've been able to add the car to the myAudi and Audi Connect apps, even though I've not got the car yet!

What about new members, if they want to find a facelift specific topic trawl all the way through this Thread..... No it's best to start all new specific facelift topic threads that can be found via the search engine

Once again I agree... Lets hope Sandra comes back to me with the news that she can create a new sub-section in the AUDI FORUMS A3 SERIES for the 2016 FACELIFT and then all the threads about the Facelift can be put in that section and new ones can be created to cover the various items of discussion. Any existing threads about the Facelift model would be transferred across. Hopefully this would make life easy for new and old members.

But then if you have a whole sub section for the facelift won't you just get new people asking questions on the facelift section that in fact apply to the 8v chassis as a whole? Sounds like info would be missed

Possible but possibly better than having to go through pages of information about that may or may not apply to any particular car. No system will be perfect.

I was thinking of doing the same! At what stage in the order process does "your audi" get updated with a vehicle vin?
