hi folks done some bits on the audi today. fistlly yesterday the rs4 rarb arrived. brought a ss+ which is 22mm rather than the stock 20mm one. this will be fitted in the next few weeks. fitted an s4 overhead console, diffrence being the switches light up when you turn the side lights on, plus there is 2 leds that shine on the centre console. painted the door handles that i preped last week. fitted the d/s window swithes, in the handle. got 3 new ones coming for the others, fitted the handles along with illuminating interior door handles to the spare front door panels i had. while the paint was out, i painted the small vent grills in the front footwells. cleaned all the carpets with vanish carpet foam.

When you had the door handle off mate how hard do you think it would be to change the led in the handles as I'd like mine a bit brighter

I've purchased my mfsw and matching airbag over the weekend..
All going well it'll all be here Thursday by lunch time..
Since I'll have to take the parts off ill double check the cruise install and hope that the system not working is a bent pin and can sort it out..
Good thing I'm off work that night. So I can't take all day and double check every and anything carefully..
Fingers crossed.

That's ok mate had a bit of time this morning free so stripped a door card off and had a look what I needed and ordered up some new bright red led for the little clear holder so from inside the car the handle should glow brighter

I've done the same conversion in my TT

Any later shape wheel with "MODE" button works as its the lower lin version
So yours is a A4/A5 wheel with a A3 8v single stage airbag

I went for carbon flat bottom and had to have dual stage bag out of a A4/A5

Hi 1Wheel,
Glad to see you back on the forum pal. Indirectly I'd like to thank you for the help on my mods so far on my B6 Cab (especially getting the rear b7 lights coded and working) as I read a ton of your old posts when you had the car.

I must say, your TT is stunning and obviously a fan of the colour Red. That FBSW is so damn nice!!

Would you mind if I contacted you when I eventually come round to doing the same? Im still a bit hazy as to exactly all the parts I need. What I do know is that im going to get a cheap one off Ebay (seen some really good ones) and then get Royal steering wheels to re-upholster it in Alcantara.

Any other mods to the TT? Mapped it yet?

All the best.

Dan.

Awesome, Thank you sir.

Brilliant..good choice in car. SO much can be done to the Mk5 Golf. Ive seen some awesome builds on FB. Lots of groups if you ever get stuck too. If your boy is lucky why not treat him to 2nd hand full leather Recaros! Seen these bad boys only for around £300!

*getting carried away now* :p

That's one good looking steering wheel, but I'm slightly biased. ;) Good to see you got one.

Thanks mate..
I was just seeing the ones with paddle shifters and finally found this one..
Why biased?
Just waiting for the airbag..

Good one..
I saw that when looking for mine. Just didn't buy because it didn't have the s line logo.

Oh yeah.. I remember seeing that earlier when I asked about the mfsw..
Looks really smart.

Easily one of the NICEST sterring wheels...EVER! Did you get the carbon work done by 'Royal' Steering wheels ?

Flat bottom all the way ;-P

I personally think it suits the cab's dash even more than the saloon/estate

I'm so picky I had to find one with it.. Lol.
Can you take just the bit where the s line logo goes or the entire trim that goes round the steering wheel?

MOT this morning...Feels like going to dentist! lol.

Which later required having new lower control arms fitted (186k on the oem)..this has really tightened up steering feel.MOT passed!

The front brakes on my B6 have been due a change for a while, I suspect the previous owner had changed the pads without changing the discs (or visa versa) which meant the inside section of the braking surface on both sides wasn't even being touched by the pad! I also took this opportunity to upgrade to the 312mm discs, I've had the bigger carriers sprayed up and ready to go for a while so it was an easy swap.

Old discs in a terrible state...

New 312mm Black Diamond discs on, bigger carriers fitted, and calipers sprayed black...

Forgot to take a pic before the wheel went back on, but the finished article after a run out to take the coating off the discs...

All excited about the mfsw and the guy selling it listed a part number and sends me a different one..
Oh well.. Another week waiting for the right one.

I personally think it suits the cab's dash even more than the saloon/estate

It does suit it more, however, that is in a TT. You can see it on the dials. I'm not sure if the cab dash is based off TT dash though, with the 3 center vents. Does look good though. Would really want one for my cab, but the airbag single and multi the stuff, I dunno, just have to see I guess.

Yes its a TT Matt. Honestly..go for it! The Flat Bottom is gorgeous. I know its always a 'risk' at the end of the day but God forbid you'll NEVER be in the situation to find out. I have read countless posts on varoius forums about this issue. 95% good 5% not so good. Super excited for when I eventually do this. I cannot stand the 3 spoke audi steering wheel we have. Its utter sh*te. :p

Got the new number plate surrounds on just need to order some pressed plates.

And also got the front disc and pads changed as i got the old disc measured up to find it already had 312mm disc's fitted so aBit of a bonus there.
