The missus has cloth seats in her Leon and I think they do keep their fresh look for longer. Like jassy has said on quite a few occasions the quality of leather on the 8v cars is poor..I don't recall any issues of excessive wear on any of the 4 audi's I have had in the past.My 52 plate A4 Quattro Sport had lovely seats after 60k plus miles they looked as new..

I'll take a pic of my S5 ones mate. Think the side bolsters are OK, but the sagging in the middle from the super sport seats is criminal. I'm only at 6000 miles, but they were like it around 600....

Currently looking at maybe chopping it in early for the new A3 (very sad day if/when it happens :(), but its made me think going for the standard leather/cloth isn't a bad idea...although I guess the bolsters could still be an issue!

I had two 5 series, both with leather and they never did this. Do Audi acknowledge that it's a fault, characteristic or just don't care?

Seems to be how they roll re complaints. You've only got to read about how many members on here have damaged a/c condensers due to the poor design of A3 grilles . . . . and how little Audi seem to care when confronted with the issue.

Took them nearly a decade to finally admit the pistons were faulty on the 2.0TFSI engine in the A4, A5 and Q5....Can't believe I and others had to stand there and argue why going through 1lt of oil every 300 odd miles was not normal....

@jassyo06 would leather cleaner and /or conditioner help? i hear you should be like that with low amount of miles though

Those aren't @jassyo06's seats... he has lunar...

But I'd imagine a cleaner/conditioner won't do much once they've got to that stage... would have probably helped stop them getting there in the first place though earlier on

Coming from Merc and BMs, the S3 is actually my first Audi, and I have never seen this problem until the Audi, mine's 12k so far and pretty much as the pictures here. I complaint to Audi and they said it's not covered by warranty... it's the type of leather used, I've seen an A3 with buffalo leather? It held up much much better than the smooth leather on the S3, it's just a matter of choice of leather used and insufficient amount of foam I guess.. I might have it redone with tougher leather if it gets any worst..

Merc and BMW often use textured leather on the side bolsters which does a good job of disguising any creases.

Always very careful getting in and out of mine but they are still creased plus a bit of saggy leather too - have looked at getting a new seat base cover but it was around £450 IIRC.

Certainly a compromise, the 'elephant skin' used in our M135i doesn't crease, but some owners complain about it cracking. One of the attractions for us is the apparent quality in comparison of the Audi Napa leather. We do take care of our leather seats, with regular cleaning and 'feeding', but will be disappointed if the seats deteriorate too quickly.

That said, with leather, one man's 'wear' is another man's 'patina'.

Not great CC. Is it the same with SSS and standard leather?
Yep, 8k on my RS3 8v and they look tired and discoloured. Got an Audi sport day next Saturday so will ask a few questions if I can find the right person.

I totally agree with this. Cracking was an issue with the previous BMW's models that we owned. I found that you had to keep them nourished and cleansed, almost like using a good skin cream.

The Audi ones are no where near as "dry" / hard if that the thrase to use. On reflection they feel totally different and in some ways more faux to be honest. But if they dont crack I will be v happy.

Someone on here maybe?
Noticed as well the seat was very shiny..Might be the reason the leather was in such a bad way..Polished to much or using the wrong type of cleaner maybe..

19k miles , leather conditioned every month so in great condition other than the bolster. Also a few small creases now at the front of the seat under my knees .....

Looks like the leather isn't padded out enough or the stitching allows for some play. Really shouldn't happen.

I know mate chalking up the miles I'll do an oil change next weekend. Prob another reason to keep this one for a while given the miles I do.

Back to the seat, as much as it doesn't look too bad and the leather itself is still looking very good the passenger seat is like new! If it starts to bug me then I'll look to have the bolster panel replaced and some better foams put in the base I know a really good trimmer who'll do it for me for some beer tokens.

2015 Car with 13K Miles.
Seats treated with Cquartz Leather soon as I got the car, so hasn't seen any leather conditioner as it wont soak in.
Bad decision I think, wont be using that stuff again.

Badge sells, people buy, why would they care. There's a growing list of issues with various cars so it's probably not likely to get sorted.
Mine have sagged but don't look as bad as some of these (Seats I mean)

Is it only S3 seats that are doing this? Anyone got leather on a S-line with same issues?

S-Line full leather seats in mine, 15k miles, 18 months old. Looks identical to those photos above. Bolsters cracked and looking really quite c r a p for such an expensive optional extra. It was the same with my previous S-line with the standard part-leather. Not good enough.
