Well after being very unimpressed by silicon seleants so far, I'm deciding to go back to wax.

Anybody got any rev one dations of decent waxes?

I used Angel Wax Desirable last time and it was great.

KKD sell a liquid elements wax called exhibition, it's an extremely wet looking wax with a good carnuba content for longevity, not stupidly priced either, they also do one called seduction which I'm currently using, not as good as exhibition imo

Just done a 3 stage polish on my car today and will be applying this tomorrow so I shall send an update tomorrow!

Probably all the same stuff just with different colours and scents added to them....! There's not many products I've used and thought "That was absolutely pants"...

A Turtle wax trim restorer I bought before I got knee deep into this detailing melark, but thats about all I can think of!

@Snake Pliskin is another fan of OW too

Once I found Obsession I don't even consider any other wax - don't feel the need to - awesome brand & plenty of waxes ALL of which are superb !!!!

I remembered I had some waxyboxes in the garage that had Autofinesse Desirable in them so I've applied some of that.

Finished with 2 coats of KKD seduction

Tried various waxes over the years. Finally settled on Collinite 476S. Not too expensive, easy to apply, and water still beads 3-4 months after application.

So day so good with the wax. No more horrendous water marks that I got after using Gyeon Cure!

No more sealants for me!!! Back to good old wax!

Zymol Glasur.
Its superb, has a high gloss and if the car is correctly washed with PH neutral shampoo (which should be the case anyway) it will last at least six months.

I cant rate it highly enough. But the vehicle needs to be prepared properly as the wax will only bond with the paint surface.

I'm glad you've come to the realisation that silicon is pants. Talking with many of the little companies at Waxstock it became clear that many rely on silicon to provide the shine and basis for their products. Its an easy and extremely cheap way of getting into car care products with little scientific knowledge. Another con is making it smell nice! This has absolutely no impact (well a small negative impact) on the performance of the product, unless its an air freshener, but it tricks people into buying it.

But don't give up on all sealants, some of the more expensive products like Nanolex and Gtechniq don't use silicon.

I've used Autoglym HD wax, Collinite and most recently Obsession wax.

The Autoglym is really good, I liked it the best until I started using the Obsession wax. The Collinite was hard to take off, I think I left it too long.

Ive just bought 3ltrs of williams waterless wash and wax from ideal worls shopping channel. Looks good. And cheap deal.
Cant vouch for it at the mo.

Britemax Vantage is a really nice wax to work with

Been using Bilt Hamber double action Carnauba wax. Which has provied great results.

Has anyone tried 'Collinite No. 476S Super Double Coat Auto Wax'?
