Facelift THE NEW AUDI A3 (2016 FACELIFT) – STILL AHEAD OF THE CURVE

I'm in the same boat mate and I feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall trying to get a Build week. Unfortunately I do not have a solution for you :(

At least I am not alone. Looks like my build date of 22nd of August will be changing. Put my car up for sale as well and it looks like it will be away next week. Public transport for the next few months. I don't even know how to get a bus.

Stand at one of these I think!

Currently driving a 65 plate 1.6 A3 sport back courtesy car for the last week and a half.
What a load of bobbins.
Uncomfortable cheap seats, terrible engine, noisey brakes, really light steering and nothing really good to say about it except the doors sound nice when you close them
Just saying obviously.
Burn me

Saw my first FL S3 on the road last night and to be fair it was quite the stunner! I could hear it before I saw it. Vegas yellow S3 - 3 door! What a beauty!!

Vegas yellow? Not for me... Think that's a young mans colour...

I ordered my S3 saloon in March but order did not go through due to the FL arriving. Car reordered in June and car due to be built in August and I asked for the spec to be changed slightly due to the new spec of the FL in June. Dealer is only now making the changes and says the system won't let him do

Up to 80 years old you can have yellow.
After that all bets are off :)
Sod the age if you like something ;-)

It's not a colour I'd choose, but then again it's refreshing to see a brightly coloured Audi, majority are darker colours

When you go there on Sunday you will probably find the Sales building is no more as when I was there a couple of weeks ago the sales team was in the middle of moving out and moving in to a new extension on the end of the Service building so that the Sales building could be demolished and a new one built on the same site. When it's all done and Sales move in to the new building, the service staff will move in to the new extension on the Service building.
Yeah I work up the road so check on progress when I pass it on the way to Tesco!

Anyway apparently there was some confusion on their side and despite me asking "is it definitely the FL S3 Saloon" and the guy answering "Oh yes" as if it was a stupid question, it is NOT in fact the FL S3 Saloon but a PFL S3 Saloon which I have already driven. I have subsequently cancelled my appointment and told them to call me again when they have a FL! The sales rep who called me to point this out said that their S3 demonstrator has a build week 35 slot so they are not expecting it for another 10 weeks.

So here it goes - FL SB S Line Daytona Grey..

Lovely car if you ask me, much nicer in real life and the pictures don't do it justice... Interesting to note that on both models they had; x1 S Line and x1 SE in the showroom they both had the silver Audi badge on the dashboard, as seen above.. Typically this was reserved for Quattro models only.

Neither car had the thin LED band around the door trims so I would say this pretty much confirms that this is part of the Light Design trims which is an extra £200.

Other than that, bit of a disappointing visit, only two cars of which the S Line was a demo car and I only had 5 mins to take those pictures before it was off out, both cars were also locked and neither had VC so I didn't get any interior shots as not much else is different vs the pFL.

Aaahhh I spec'ed/un-spec'ed this "brush aluminium inlay, light design" £200 option a million times until I un-spec'ed it... Should have kept it. Ah well, not a deal breaker. Glad to see Daytona like that! BW34 can't come soon enough!!

Nice front lights. I was a bit miffed at having to remove matrix from my order as currently unavailable, but I'm coming to terms with it :)

Exactly the same as me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you only get the full advantage of the Matrix LED headlights (i.e. Bending automatically round corners etc) if you load your journey into the MMI Navigation before leaving every time...?

If you specced high beam assist and have an S Line or above I don't really see a great difference. Don't get me wrong I 100% wanted to spec then on my order but a potential Q4 build / Q1 delivery.. nah life is too short and it's already an excellent car IMO..

I will pop into Crewe Audi tomorrow, hopefully get a few additional pictures and also some interior shots.

Hmmm I wouldn't be so sure. Sometimes the launch cars come with an unusual set of options, which are not necessarily the same as what you can order. I'm still hopeful they are part of the interior LED light package.

Full all weather LED headlights do not require fog lights so I have been told..

The button for the front fog lights is replaced by a button for the front all weather lights.

No, don't think you need to set a route. The headlights get GPS data, so hills, bends etc. affect what the headlights do. I think the B&O system also gets GPS data which affects the sound reproduction!

Cheers for the heads up on the all weather lights. In regards to the LED band - I actually thought that myself about 15 mins ago after looking at a video on YouTube where it shows a FL SB S line with the exact same trim options as the one I saw today, that had it and the one in Warrington didn't.. I hope your right lol

Another thing is that if they were an option, then there would be 2 interior LED light options, which seems a bit unusual! Good pics, by the way. Would be nice to see Apple CarPlay on the centre screen if you get a chance to play about inside, on your next visit! :D

Yeah I added the HBA and also the auto dim interior mirror cos that was included in the matrix pack. I don't think you need a route in the Nav it just uses it anyway, but having watched a couple vids of it yes it's funky tech but defo not a showstopper not having it (for me anyway). And of course I'm 720 quid better off :)

I think the matrix lights are particularly useful if you do a lot of country road driving, but about town and on lit motorways the standard LEDs do a great job. :)

S line has no fog lights as the S Line gets LED lights as standard and are deemed to be so good fog lights aren't needed

Mine has high beam assist but you have to have auto dimming rear view mirror as well

Just don't get cornering lights they were good on the 8P suck on the 8V (is it still a option on FL 8V?).

Saw FL S3; the back bumper looks really nasty and out of place though I imagine the extra 10 (well 20-30 in reality) horsees must feel good ^_^

Yeah and it's only the start of the build... Add another 4 weeks after that until delivery! But 1 step at a time. First BW34 then delivery week lol

I wouldn't be so sure on a 4 week delivery. Customer services say there is MASSIVE backlogs at the factory and shipping port of Emden.

My car has been at Emden since 23rd June awaiting shipping. It's still on Status 38. So far I've stalked every ship leaving Emden for Sheerness and still no luck in the status changing.

MU57ARD, either you're incredibly unlucky or I'm exceptionally lucky! Mine was down as build week 28, 11th July. It was in Quality Control by the first day of supposed build week and in Emden on the Tuesday. Only sat for a couple of days at the port and after getting a boat took 4 days to arrive (by yourAudi updates), even though sailing is about 1.5 days.

My car has now reached status 60 and on its way to Belfast. Dealer said I should be able to pick up either end of this month or beginning of next, which suits me fine as I'm not back from holidays until 28th

I hope your dealer is going to compensate you well for the delay you've suffered, I would be absolutely raging!
