Central locking

hi everyone I have an 2002 a4 b6 estate I'm having problems with the central locking . I only have one key for the car it's not a remote one for the central locking it's just a normal key but 9/10 it is not working the central locking and it only locks the drivers door. Sometimes if I keep opening and locking the car the central locking will work. Any ideas?

Broken cables where they enter the drivers door is a very common issue.

Thanks I'll give this a try it might explain why it sometimes works of the door is slammed the wires will be making a connection
