Hi guys & girls
I posted a while back basically asking what car to get next. However I got offered a cracking deal on a 2004 Astra H Design. Not what I'd choose but. 1 owner (family friend) 100k miles, 1.6 petrol... £600 and dropped to my door!

SO.... now my daily is sorted I want to start a project car, would like a Stroker 2.0L GT3076R. I work in a garage so tools aren't a problem. I will also be learning to weld

This is a massive jump in the deep end for me but I like a challenge and I learn fast, the bit I'm struggling with is knowing what parts to buy. I want to collect everything before I start. So far this is my list.

Turbo GT3076r (twin scroll?)
2.0 FSI Crank
83mm Pistons
144x20 Rods
AEB Head
Intake Vavles
Exhaust Vavles
Valve Guides
Valve Springs/retainers
Valve Stem Seal
Head Bolts
Head Studs (do I need both?)
Camshaft Gear
Fuel Rail
Uprated Fuel Pump
Injectors
Gaskets etc
2.0t Coil Pack
Clutch Kit
Pulley's
Catch Can
Intake Manifold
Hemi 80mm TB
Uprated MAF
Manuel timing belt kit
Short Shifter
Intercooler
Exhaust Manifold
Custom Exhaust
Oil gear 1.8 to 2.0
Wastegate?

Any advice and tips etc would be greatly appricated!! WI'll be collecting parts for the next year ish so I've got some time (while I'm on a 47 week mechanics course).

maybe i can give some info
all looks good depends also on what power you want to achieve
Turbo GT3076r (twin scroll?)
2.0 FSI Crank
83mm Pistons
144x20 Rods
AEB Head
Intake Valves - OEM good for 800-1000whp http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?6930456-Power-limits-of-OEM-1-8T-components
Exhaust Vavles
Valve Guides
Valve Springs/retainers
Valve Stem Seal
Head Bolts
Head Studs (do I need both?)
Camshaft Gear
Fuel Rail - depending on power might not need to change this
Uprated Fuel Pump - DW 65v is good for 500hp drop in pump

Injectors
Gaskets etc
2.0t Coil Pack
Clutch Kit
Pulley's
Catch Can
Intake Manifold
Hemi 80mm TB
Uprated MAF
Manuel timing belt kit
Short Shifter
Intercooler
Exhaust Manifold
Custom Exhaust
Oil gear 1.8 to 2.0
Wastegate?
Things added off the top of my head
Race bearing will be needed
Maybe think about a Water Meth Injection kit
Uprated engine mounts (this is a must on a Quattro) dog bone mount as well
Custom CAI most likely 100mm
Suggest maybe a magnetic sump plug (CTS) while running motor
cheap oil (motor run in)
oil filter (motor run in )
Coolant
New oil pump (suggested)
Thrust bearing
water pump and thermostat while you at it

Thanks ask, yeah water meth will be 100% going into the build i just forgot to add it, things like CAI etc i will just be creating my own. I know AEB head is recommended but as far as blocks go is it anything goes as I am boring and building it anyway?

what 2.0 L cranks can you use?

from MK4 and MK5? i thought it had to be the TFSI one?

123

Well thats surprising but yes i think it has to be a FSI Crank, but to be fair i would never have guess the TFSI and 1.8t are the same.

Crank to get is 06A 105 021 AR from a TFSI.. this is a forged crank but you will need to change the oil pump sprocket for a 1.8t one... stroker build requires special 'stroker' pistons but uses 1.8t rods (IE rifle drilled)

If you haven't already it may be worth having a read from here...
