F1 season 2016

Not just no punctures, what about a set of ultra soft going 3/4 of the race!?? Superb! Even the Perelli guy didn't think they could go anywhere near that distance.
The 'free' pass as you call it was essential. Rosberg's lack of ability was put on full display. He doesn't like adverse conditions and never has. When Lewis went past he was 7 seconds up the road within 2 laps. Brake problems my backside. He simply wasn't up to it when it mattered.
If Mercedes were throwing everything at Hanilton because they are paying him more how do we explain Rosberg's winning streak against Hamilton? First time Lewis has beaten him since Austin last year. The difference with Lewis is he thinks he's never beaten! Rosberg showed today with The Hulk passing him on the line to take 6th place that if he's not at the front challenging then who cares! I maybe wrong but the sportsman in me says otherwise! He gives up too easily and spits the dummy! Hamilton is an out and out racer, Ricardo showed he's up for it today as well.
The rest of the season with the Bulls getting engine upgrades with that chassis is going to be interesting.

Oh, and well done Perez. Force India, I doff my hat. :hi:

Ok, just caught up with all the post race interviews, Rosberg was passed on the last lap, as his ultra soft tyres were finished, and the light bit of rain meant he had no grip left! I have to say, respect and hats off to Rosberg for letting Hamilton through early on, to give him that fighting chance to win the race! Can't see Lewis doing the same if put into the same scenario.

So I was wondering if Lewis was going to publicly thank Nico for letting him past during the race?

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton thanked team-mate Nico Rosberg 'for being a gentleman' and letting him through to help him win the Monaco Grand Prix.

Do you think the Red Bulls will have the pace in Canada to push Mercedes?

I hope we will see more from Ferrari to keep it interesting.

Cloudy and outbreaks of rain, forecast for Sunday

If the engine upgrade is as good as they say then they might leapfrog Ferrari but can't see them jumping the Merc's. Lewis has won 4 times round here. Think he'll bag it again as long as there's no more gremlins. Although, the Merc's seem to have brake issues round Montreal.

Did you guys watch the seagull chat between Vettel and Hamilton after the race? Brilliant piece :)

Yip. They actually have a lot of respect for each other, and are friendly.
The funniest chat was Kimi over the team radio as usual. "What is that piece of Sh1t Manor doing?"!! :whistle2:

There could be some monster accidents on that circuit if people get it a bit wrong. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Renault, Manor or Sauber in the wall. They don't seem to generate the downforce at high speeds that some of the top cars manage, so tend to be more skittish.

I feel the same.
Love to see new circuits, and we will need to wait to see how this one plays out, but if two cars make contact going down that straight…. Its going to be messy!
No to very little runoff area, think the safety car will be very busy this weekend.

Revelation: not everything moves out of the way for Hamilton... :yahoo:

Good amount of artificial overtaking today. Not a bad circuit. The team radio ban is rather silly. I get talking about strategies to driver, but in case of Hamilton and Raiknonnen today?

Not sure how many of you watched LeMans, but what a disaster for Toyota 6mins before finish. Heart breaking. And audi nowhere near the top.

Nico Rosberg will receive a five-place grid penalty for a gearbox replacement following his crash during final practice.

Well, I'll be the first to say it. Rosberg is a wannabe who can't hack it!
He tried a Hamilton and failed miserably. When was Hamilton meant to turn in? When he was in the gravel? I can see poor wee Nico getting a grid penalty for causing a collision?
He's been taking pointers of Sturgeon as well. It's not our or we who want something. HIS brakes were failing not both of them. Liked Toto's reaction! He knows full well who was at fault. I don't know when Merc are going to realise that Lauda is a liability and get rid of him.
Pity Seb couldn't have been in the fight. He'd have been right in it.
And a well done to Manor. Pascal for Merc next year???

I was warming to the idea of Rosberg being world champion aswell. I was reading midweek how Lewis and Nico was getting on these days, they've both matured etc. He can go stuff himself now! Lewis should just destroy him for the rest of the season!! :racer:

Great theatre, the right result, and Mercedes should do a Red Bull and relegate Rosberg to the Manor for the rest of the season .

They won't, however, if he is punished by the stewards they may think differently to their approach from now on.

Don't know what planet Rosberg is on,There is no way he was going to make that corner without hitting unless Hamilton ran off the track.
The stewards seem to agree and have penailised him 10 seconds but thats made no difference to the results.
I can see team orders being imposed if they can't stop running into each other but that's more likely to help Rosberg as if he is in front Hamilton may be stopped from taking him on.
Not very good at the track with all the booing. I am sure if the people had been able to see all the in car stuff they would have known Rosberg was the villian in the story.

"Rosberg was handed a 10-second time penalty, but was 14 seconds ahead of Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo"

Wow, some penalty..... Not :-(

You'll always get the Hamilton haters. They don't agree with his lifestyle, conduct off the track and how he seems to turn up and still beat them all!! I am a fan but I see things for what they are. The two major incidents this year were Nico's fault. Has Hamilton pushed the limits before, of course he has. Nico just isn't a "racer", he's a driver! Seb, max, Alonso, Kimi are racers, the rest are drivers. Some will agree some will disagree. The above named, give them a gap and they'll go for it, the rest are measured. Sometimes wins sometimes loses. I'd rather watch a racer than a driver.

Agreed, but I guess they have to look at it from the point of view that they don't want to effect the championship. Plus they also interviewed Lewis before passing verdict, and Lewis has pretty shrugged it off as a racing incident.

Of course Lewis will say that about his team mate. Otherwise he would hear from Toto about team play.

Gutted for Lewis, final qualifying lap slowed by temporary yellow, allowing Nico to sneak past him in to pole. :-(
