Hi, I'm needing to replace the front tyres on my car. The car came with budgets on the front that make so much noise. I'm basically asking what tyres people have got on theres and what people recommended. Thanks

Best tyres belong on the rear !

Michelin Pilot Sport 4
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3
Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 2 .

+1

Have tried the previous generation of both the GY and Dunlop and like them both. If pushed, would probably choose the GY but no real reason behind it.

And yes, remember to switch your rears to the front and the new ones to the back :)

This may sound stupid, but why switch the new ones to the back? That just so they last longer?

I was going to keep the new ones on the front because the back ones have about 5/6mm of tread left

Aww I see, thanks for the advice.

I have a 2012 A5 Quattro. The original tires were Goodyear. I purchased the car in 2012 and the original tires showed extreme cupping which I attributed to not being rotated on regular basis.
I purchased Hankook S1 Noble 2 replacement tires about a year ago. In less than 20K miles these tires are wearing well but have developed a very annoying noise that is prevalent between 45 mph and 60 mph. I've had good luck with Hankook tires on other vehicles but not on this Audi. The dealer said these tires are not Audi Originals so they may not perform well. Evidently some tires are marked with an AO on the sidewall which means Audi Original. I've worked in the rubber/tire industry for a lot of my career and have never heard of this.
Anybody care to comment.

Think it's just another term for '' audi tax''
I have heard of it, just did not pay any attention as them branded tyres are always bottom of the list and more expensive.
A marketing ploy for the unsure perhaps.
Just stick to good quality tyres.
I personally like and had good experience with Goodyear Eagle f1's, there a cracking tyre, really good all-round.
At the minute running Dunlop sport max for a change as they were the quietest I could find.
There good, but I prefer the eagles.
Moral of the story, buy the best and most recommended.

Same experience as me with regards to loving F1 Asym 2, and then got my S5 with Dunlops on. Even though the Dunlops are just as quiet and capable, I would still go for the GY F1s...no idea why!
