Seen that on the Tv and it does look nice!

Before you do check out the new M235i, it's going to be the M240i....more power, lower fuel consumption, quicker acceleration and a small face lift. It will also be available in 4wd! I was talking to a BMW sales guy last week and he said it's not worth paying the extra for the M2!!!

And yes he has my details for when they come in ;) He's already said whatever Audi will give you PX we will match it, as their PX prices go through the same place!!!!

http://bmwcarmagazine.com/bmw-m140i-m240i-make-debuts/

It's not going to be 4WD in the UK. We don't get it, only LHD can support the 4WD

Nope, in the 1's & 2's it's the boring stuff. In the 3's it's the boring stuff with the best being the 335d and so on

Haha! Yes, that's the boring stuff. You can't get any of the 40i stuff in X-drive or any M cars

I assumed with all the AMG, S and RS talk that this was aimed more at the high performance models

@Soulboy - Sell your deposit / slot. You should make a real killing me thinks :D

I know someone who put a £2k deposit down on a brand new BMW 1M & ended up selling his deposit/slot for £5k. Madness!

On the M2 I recall you sign some sort of form saying you are not going to resell it immediately or something. Or else they will never sell you another BMW!?!?

And I don't think you can sell your slot unfortunately. Your deposit is refunded and the next person in the queue jumps up a place.......or so the dealer told me.

Must admit.....a 240i with X drive may just be more appealing, if that does become available?

Few months to go yet.....so will look into it a bit more later on.
I ordered last winter and can't even remember what my order is tbh apart from Long Beach Blue / Manual.

Wonder how the M2...will fair against the RS3 saloon, for me the M2 and I know this a personal point of view but BMW's external generic styling of its latest M cars is a little too garish looking for my taste, especially the lower front...it reminds of the flaps on a aeroplane, with loads of small ailirone's going in every direction...TMI..I would say its on par with the civic Type R.....overkill,the rear of the M2...is its design Foopah,it looks too shallow from top of the bootlid down to lowest part of the rear valance...with 4 exhuast tips tightly squeezed into its rear, and l wont start on its interior design,av already slated the car enough...lol in general one thing that really bugs me about BMW's is all there headlights are of the same design...based on Eric Morecambes spectacles....lol

I can agree with most of that Jassy, but at the moment it's still top of the list for me.

Fancy a change from VAG cars next as had a fair few of late and nothing currently really appeals. Never had a BMW or Porsche...so just fancying a change.

I could even stretch things and get a 911, but not sure I want to tip that much into a car.

Good try guys but the correct right answer is:

I know, I know.. it's Italian and will break down, fall apart ..whatever. It's a rear drive, 500BHP Alfa Romeo and it looks amazing. That's all that matters to me. The order books open soon, I've had a holding deposit down for months and can't wait.

It is lovely looking from most angles. I'm sure it will give me some gip, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't fun. The interior looks nice but is plasticy, a definite step down from the 8v. The engine is the Ferrari California T motor with 2 cylinders lopped off, it does 191 mph flat out and 60 in 3.9 seconds. It's going to be mental.. when it works.

I love my S3 and think it's a brilliant car but if doesn't excite me.

Well they say you're never a true petrolhead till you've owned an Alfa! It is a stunning looking car. However, as you say, will it stay that way or fa apart?

@NickyF just looked at it in more detail. It's 59k??? That's a fair whack to stick on an Alfa! Hope it is on the road so you can feel that power.

Wow that's seriously quick I didn't realise it was capable of those figures. Mine was the Guilietta and whilst I loved it the door trim plastics were very poor and were grained like fine sandpaper and the electronics were miles behind the central locking beeped like an 80s Halfords alarm along with the red/white mono colour DIS display was very poor. I really hope they've upped their game with the quality and found some decent in house platform tech for the electronics it deserves to do well on looks alone !

It's trying to compete with the M3 and C63 hence the price. It's a bit punchy for an Alfa, I know I'll lose my shirt but you only live once. I've owned lots of cars some good, some bad, but I only remember a few: 205gti, Fiat Coupe Turbo, Mustang GT. I'm hoping the Giulia will join that list, the S3 won't.

I had a lovely red Fiat Coupe 20v turbo too.
Looked great......but remember having to top the oil up about every 1k miles.
I was doing it in a suit one freezing cold winters night on a garage forecourt and thought fk this. Got shut that weekend for a Golf V6 4motion....which was reliable but boring.

Found some pics of the Fiat recently. Made me smile.

Mine was an 16V turbo, but it was yellow and therefore better :) As soon as the 20v came out I was sick with jealously - I hate you Soulboy just because you had one. Mine was rife with problems too, rear wiper came on when I indicated right, AC condenser rotted through when the car was 12 months old, lots else beside. But WOW it looked amazing. My S3 is better by every possible measure, but it's forgettable. This isn't (BTW -I know it's 20V Soulboy - lucky sod):

Look at the wing mirrors, look at the fuel filler cap, look at the dashboard (don't look at the yellow dildo on top of the gear stick) - Would Audi ever do anything like this? I'll put up with the breakdowns and crippling depreciation, I want Italian.

I think you'll find some exterior styling like fuel cap, wing mirrors on the TTRS...... The new alfa is a BMW 3 series clone,it's not brimming with typical Italian design flair like there coupes usually do......but l am sure it will sound amazing and will be very rare indeed on UK roads.....and if you get the car...please post some photos

I agree that it's not out there, like the 159 was. But I don't agree that it's a 3 series clone. All 3 box saloons look similar, but the 3 series is fugly and the Giulia certainly isn't. It's all subjective but I love the way it looks. I'll post pictures when I get it, should be October but I'm not holding my breath.

ok not so much suicide, as much as blind love!...

the new Q2 I believe
Uh huh. Nah. I'll definitely pass on that. I have an avid dislike for hatchbacks put on pseudo-SUV chassis'. I love A3's, A1's etc, so I don't like seeing them cross-dressed as Q2, q3's etc... just doesn't work for me.

Having looked at that car again. I think they'd be better off badging it as an A3 All Road, rather than a Q badged car.
