No RS3 orders being taken

At the moment it's looking like I'll be pulling the deposit on the RS3 which seems to be up in the air, and putting it down for the TTRS. Even so, still not convinced it's a great looking car. It's an illusion, but it looks like it sits too high from the ground.
Sits too high from the ground TTRS...hell no.

I'm not saying it does, but when I follow one, the design of the rear bumper makes it look like it does. An illusion, but nonetheless is doesn't look as good as it could. IMO of course!

The biggest problem is the stigma which comes with the 'TT' brand. You can say 'TTRS' all day long but ultimately it's a TT.

Oh........I must remember I have an appointment at the hairdressers today.

You could really say that about any car though. I saw three RS3's over the weekend, all driven by middle aged ladies. I also saw a "cougar" driving a 458.

For me, the issues with the TTRS lies in it's ugliness. It's hideous. I'm trying to find some angle where I like it, but the reality I hate everything about it. Except for the engine.

Then don't spend £55K on one. Wait for the RS3 PI cars next year.
As for hairdressers car, you're right that can be said about any car, especially S3, RS3 and TT's in the Audi range given how many are driven by women. I left the sexist attitude back in the 80's so don't care if its a hairdressers car or not, its a fast as f*** sports car with a new 5pot and 400PS and barring the launch wheels, it looks great IMHO.

Well said, wouldn't get too much on how a certain car makes you look. I had an mk2 tt rs and didn't care about that.
It's like saying the rs3 and s3 are driven by drug dealers ....

I really can't get where your coming from at all,the TT is a stunning looking car, even in roadster form, and the TTRS will be even more stunning in the metal.
As for that hairdressers stigma am sure the TTRS will blow dry the RS3 right out of the salon.... Lol it will be stupidly fast, as it's a good bit lighter than the RS3

Don't get your knickers in a twist. It's only a bit of fun.
I see plenty women in the more 'hairdresser friendly' models like the TT's and S3's
Not seen one in an RS3 though. Old shape or new shape.
Like my missus says... man's car, that is:tongueclosed:

Chris Harris thinks the M2 is fun.
I won't say the car he didn't think was much fun.

Was a bit of a **** review tbh. Not like Harris usual stuff. I suppose top gear have tightened the reigns a bit

Chris Harris aka l frickin hate fast Audi's.....come on CraigI...... Guys a jerk just like the rest of top gear... Showing how well the M2 goes round bends on a race track again all irrelevant and just for show, and Not true to real life driving...... And besides that the M2 is not the best looking car...at all

I don't think he's a jerk, he's one of the better presenters on there. They need to get rid of Evans, Schmitz and Jordan. The latter two are so wooden it's uncomfortable to watch. The stig has more charisma.

Regarding the track thing with the M2, it's an interesting comparison and I have no doubt that for Chris Harris, in that moment, on that track, the M2 was more fun than the RS3. If I could drive like that and if I could afford to go through tyres like that, and if I were on a track like that, I think I'd probably agree that the M2 was more fun. Of course, most of us don't do that and therefore we think our cars are more fun day-to-day on the roads. It doesn't make his opinion of what it was like there and then any less valid though.

Which brings me to another point about driver skill. When I see a video of a track race on youtube and the RWD BMW beats the AWD Audi around a track by a couple of seconds, it's declared that the BMW is the faster car. Obviously we react and say that in real life day-to-day driving the Audi is the quicker car. However I also think that were most owners of either car were to do the same laps around the same tracks, they'd probably get the Audi around it quicker too, because the skill level to utilise the RWD correctly just isn't there, whereas you can't go as wrong pointing the AWD Audi and planting the foot on the pedal.

True, CH has the ability to extract all the performance out of a rwd car whereas us average drivers don't

Chris Harris in isolation ie on youtube he's very good indeed, but on mainstream peak time TV,he's out of his depth in my opinion, the new top gear, was always going to fail,as soon as they chose Evans,

I don't think its out of his depth so to speak. He is having to stick the TG format which is more entertainment than actual substance like his online stuff

For a long while TG has been more o an entertainment show than it has a car show, its made to appeal to the masses now.
My wife can sit and watch with me which says it all!

That colour is gorgeous, I have photos saved of your car on my phone back from when earlier mentioned.

Am I right in thinking I came across your Instagram profile with this car on? I recognised the one off colour and the showroom it had just pulled out of. If so, what is your username please? I can't recall if I followed you or not, if I didn't it was by mistake haha!

Superb looking car, very jealous.. Enjoy it!!

I think the word 'driven' needs to be strengthened - 'stolen' might be more descriptive!
I live in South France on the route between Spain and main Europe. Axa, my insurer, apologised for the slightly high premium on the RS3, but it is due to it being the car of choice of drug runners, Axa know that at some stage an RS3 will be car-jacked and tariff accordingly. They even insisted that if I am car-jacked, to give over the keys without fuss as they prefer to pay out on a torched car than a personal injury claim... I think this takes the RS3 out of the 'hairdresser' league, yes..?

Put like that, yes, I take your point! However, only three days in, it is a great car and I really do mind being in either league! My only thanks is that I did not buy the A45 which was first on my list...!
