Hi Guys,

I'm driving quite a lot on my favorite mountain road, few times on track, and sometimes I'm struggling because the brakes get too hot and start fading. So I'm thinking on upgrading my brakes both front and rear. My car is a '03 2.5 V6TDI. I'm not sure about the current size. I'm thinking on either on 312/255 mm or on a complete S4 B6/B7 discs(345/300), pads and calipers.

Are any of these will fit?
Do I have to change calipers if I choose the 312 set as well (in case I don't have this already :flushed:)?
Would the 312 or the S4 brakes fit on the car and under 8x17 ET35 5x112 OZs or do I need bigger wheels?
Or is there any options wich would fit to the car and improves braking, especially the fading. Any suggestion is appreciated. :)

For the 312 you only need carriers and use the same calipers..
For s4 you'll need carriers and calipers which they are massive and on s4 you should bleed the brakes..
But my advice would be the s4. If you can get these don't even think twice.. 345 will definitely be better..
Can't remember now but yours might already be 312mm..

I'm sure they will be 312mm as a 03 VW Passat 2.5 V6 TDI is 312mm .

As above go S4 345mm and 300mm and have the reassurance of some real brakes.

Upgraded mine to the S4 setup, coming from the 1.9's 288mm, 345mm is a monster jump. The new rears are bigger than my original fronts!!!!!!

Huge difference in stopping power, and they soak up loads of abuse!

I stared off with EBC ultimax discs and pads, but the pads were a bit woolly from cold for normal commute.

Saying that, once at temp they were good enough to pull your face off.

Front pads worn out, have replaced with brembo pads, much better from cold but lose out on the hotter grip slightly. Always a compromise with heat ranges.

More importantly I ran them under the original sport 17" 5 spoke alloys, and now have some A5 alloys that are 17" as well in ET28. No fouling at all.

I did do a comparison split-pic under some 18's I had if you look at my build thread.

First of all, thanks everybody for the replies.
I'm happy if the S4 brakes will fit under the wheels I targeted.
I checked your thread, I have to say, really impressive. You have one hell of a nice B6. :)
And those 345 disks are almost as large as family sized pizzas. :)
My God I need to save so much money, first for the OZ Leggeras with the sticky PS4s, so next can be the brakes. I hope my little precious will appreciate the effort and won't make me troubles which has to be fixed (as She did last time). :)
As regards brake pads, I want to go for the Ferodo DS2500s, I haven't decided about the disks though. Any thoughts?
