Hi
Hope somebody can help
my Audi A4 avant 1.8t has started to make a strange noise on morning start up
It sounds like the car exhaust is blowing
But soon as the car idles the noise go's away ?
The car runs fine doesn't miss a beat pull's as it should the issue only happens on first start up
Any help on this would be great

Secondary Air Injection pump housing rivets have probably failed so it's now leaking. Only operates for about a 45secs on cold start up which is why the noise stops. Very common problem.

Ok thanks for the reply
I done a Google search and it come up with that but thought I would ask the pro's
The link u sent aswell doesn't show the write up
Is it best to replace or remove this secondary air injection

It can be removed with no ill effects other than the EML on the dash cluster, it can be written out with a remap, incorrect flow detected will be the cause of the EML, p0441

think I will just get a new one and get it fitted as the wife is bending my ear cause of the noise it makes lol
