Facelift THE NEW AUDI A3 (2016 FACELIFT) – STILL AHEAD OF THE CURVE

Tis to me, very much a bonus not having to get the keys out when carrying shopping or boxes. The start button is very cool as well and many cars are coming with that as standard, such as the A4...

A4 has keyless start so does the TT.. But its not keyless entry that's still an option

Thank you for pointing that out, if you look at my sentence I stated the start button is standard on the A4. Which the A3 doesn't have unless you spec the advanced key...

Guys - will the increase in option prices be reflective in the GFV of the cars and therefore PCP finance for the facelift be relatively the same as the pre-facelift?

My first car, a MinI van had the a starter button, on the floor. This was in 1967. Funny how everything seems to go around. From there cars progressed to having the start done by the ignition key. Now they are back to offering a button again, albeit not on the floor!!

You're right Dave, I had one too only, if I remember correctly, the Mini's version consisted of this button that just shorted the two red wires from the battery in the boot to the starter motor.

Asked for a quote from Maidstone Audi for this spec:
Audi A3 Saloon S line 2.0 TFSI 190 PS 6-speed
Tango Red
Matrix LED Exterior Lighting Pack
Privacy Glass
Technology Pack Advanced
Hill Hold Assist
Parking System Plus
Folding Door Mirrors
Panoramic Sunroof
Advanced Key
Interested to see what they come back with as they want to deal with me direct instead of going through Car Wow, they were the second best quote on a A4 by a couple of hundred quid.

Nice spec, do let us know what they offer you.. In particular the GMFV please. Have you gone for 36 or 48 months PCP?

Depends upon the pcp quote as to the number of payments I will make. I am paying £368 a month over four years for my current car, at two years and four months into it, so I am looking at around the same amount, although I can go higher if need be. The apr was also higher when I took out that agreement, around 6% at the time I seem to remember. I also only want to put around £2k in as a deposit though as, with pcp's, it's not good to make a high deposit because its more difficult to get it back.

So are dealerships able to quote on the new models then, albeit the configurators and the online sites such as car wow, orange wheels, drive the deal etc do not have the full update options list?

Maidstone Audi have come back at a offer price of £31,480 about £2300 off the price, not really what I was think of but still for Audi that's to be expected. I think there's room for negotiation there...

Starting point at least mate.. Did they just quote you the price or have they given you a full quote so we can see the new GMFV value..?

That's poor indeed £3k would be better 8/9% should be doable

Does that price include any deposit contribution from Audi or is that just the ROTR price for the car itself?

Didn't ask and no point in a pcp figure until we talk sensible prices. Yesterday they gave a quote for an A4 with simillar spec that had a full price of £35165 for around £29k. This is a dealership that uses Carwow so if anyone would like to, when Carwow have the spec and prices, give me any quotes for a similar spec then please feel free. I'd be interested if there is any difference.
By the way, dtd offer £3900 off the base price for the car I am interested in.

I got a finance quote from Orange Wheels an A6 Black Edition yesterday. I mentioned the facelift A3 and he said everything should be online and live on Monday.

Orange Wheels are showing a discount of £3435 on the saloon, not as good as drive the deal's near £4k...

Not sure if this vid has been posted here (I really couldn't be bothered looking..lol)

Yeah it had mate but who cares, gives me an excuse to rewatch it haha.

Starting to become frustrating there's still no base pricing on the S3 saloon though (unless I've missed something).

Certainly is a nice colour - there's a reason it's popular :) unfortunately I saw it so much when I worked at a dealer that it took some of the shine off it when I now come to consider my own car. Panther Black for me

Had an 8p black edition in panther black and I have to say it was serious hard work keeping up with the cleaning and for that reason I won't get a black car again..Having said that when the car was spotless the paintwork really popped..

You're quite right. The Germans arent known for their sense of humour, but I have to admit Audi's stylists have beaten me to the punchline.

As have Audi's marketing department who think over £40k without options is an acceptable price for the thing. Now that is funny...

£40k for a hatchback without options..................jesus christ, and some folks on here continue to delude themselves that prices haven't gone skywards!

I'm genuinely not trying to be smug here but for comparison my S3 saloon was a smidge under £43k with options just over a year ago. Fortunately I got 10% which took the sting out.

That may well be the case with some models but personally I will be looking at the A3 Sportback in Sport trim in either the 2.0 TFSI - 190 s-tronic quattro or the 2.0 TDI -184 s-tronic quattro. The TDI has not been released yet but assuming the same percentage increase as the 150 version and with £5000 worth of options the 2.0 TFSI will work out £110 more than the PFL TDI version and the 2.0 TDI £1059 more before I take in to account any discounts that may be available. In both cases any increase in the price of the options has been offset by the Xenon's now being standard were as on the PFL they were a £1250 option

My 4 year old 8p black edition £27k list fully loaded. An 8v is a minimum 5 k more for the same model and spec. I think I will be down grading as last time I check my allowance for the car at work had not gone up 1k per year

That's £2.4k more than my current car was showroom price, but mine doesn't have stronic, ACC, Pre-sense, Virtual Cockpit, Comfort and Sound or the Matrix Lights and much of what I did have is now standard. No I am not deluded and the price needs to be like for like.
If you don't like it then don't buy it, simple, however I can get prices that are not much more than I actually paid for my car, with more options, on drive the deal.

Well that goes without saying. I'm hardly likely to go through the online configurator comparing prices for every single variant of the 8V anymore than you are.
