Ok , saturday. Overcast , 13 degrees, no rain , no wind. Mmm
, my S 3 is 6 months old and was pro detailed at a few days old.

So time to give it a real good going over. Five hours later given it the works. Well happy .

Mate said i am crazy he takes his Nissan to the Romanians at Asda.

They think i am crazy, but i feel smug

Mine are the same, think I'm mad spending that much time...until they saw the end result - like factory new one said, offers then came in to do theirs.
Thing is, while its tough work, I love doing my own, not sure if I'd care as much doing others as its not my baby!

My car is mancky. Longest it's been filthy in its young life. I could have got a mobile valeter in to do it, get my dad to do it (hell no), or wait till I'm fit enough to A. Do it myself or B. Drive it the three miles there and back to the only guys I trust to wash it apart from me! It's still mancky! Drove for first time today but it's to rain tomorrow so it'll be waiting a little longer. My local Romanians use a leather to dry the car afterwards. Cringe every time I drive by hearing all those swirls getting dug in.

By the way, your car looks the dugs dangly bits. :friends:

Nothing wrong with that, just normal Audi "owner working practice" , well worth it as your car is looking spot on

Thanks everyone. Nice to have kindred spirits on here. In fact really enjoyed it.
I am also a musician and it was like getting to know a new instrument. Finished it with gtechniq C2v3 so got close up and personal with each panel.

Then when for a drive arouns some twisty lanes

Just had my RSQ3 pro-detailed by Daryl musicegbdf, as when I picked it up after trading my S3, it had swirls in the paintwork - well not now. The man worked his magic. Only been back just over a week, 2 days after getting it back came out in the morning to find it covered in a fine yellow dust (rape seed dust), then got gritty after being caught in the rain on the A127. Been washed twice (very carefully) since its return to bring it back to its pristine form that it left Offset Detailing in.

Yours looks great, and yes I spend ages over mine too, and my bike, they are either clean or not, there is no in-between, and if not then they get cleaned! Frequently. Maybe we are all OCD fanatics................eeeek!

I think there is a difference between caring about your car and spending 5 hours on it a couple of days after a pro-detail ! :whistle2:

Car does look good though - at least it did when he took the picture - probably "needs" cleaning again now :blahblah1:

No, the car was done six months ago - this is the spring clean top-up.

Looks good! Did you black the wheels as well? I can't tell - the front left looks like it had some work but the back doesn't?

Car looks great, having an amazingly clean and good looking car all the time is a must.

The entire street I live on thinks I am mad, I wash and/or detail my car religiously every single weekend, and its not uncommon for me to be attacking the paint work with my DAS 6 and Megs ultimate polish for up to 8 hours at a time, which on its own raises more than a few eyebrows. Even a quick wash and clean inside (which takes up to two hours) includes snow foam and two buckets, then some poorboy's quick detailer+ etc...

I am well and truly addicted to washing and cleaning my car, which is weird because I am shambolic in my general appearance, and I have a pathological hatred for house work.

Car does look good but you're only crazy when trying to wash the in torrential rain like I have done on occasion. Does play havoc with the shampoo though...

Nothing wrong with washing your car in the rain, at least it's soft water unlike the hard water we have out of the tap here... well that's my excuse anyway!.

Maybe I should stick a calgon tablet in my wash buckets too!!!. :-D

Nah you need some dishwasher salt in the water that will make it nice and soft and do away with the Calgon

It's only the same as someone digging in mud for 5 hours to make the garden look nice! :)

Well it does help rinse it, I was wearing shorts but made a bit of a concession to the weather as I had my fleece on..

Nice one hawkeye , sounds awsome. Yes Daryl is a top guy. My plan is to give it the works every six months . One coming out of winter , one going in. The idea to top up the coatings. The Gtechniq fabric protector works well on the lunar alcantara. A few months back some one sat in the front with black grease ! Damp cloth wiped straight off. No marks at all. A bit smelly going on for a day or two but worth it.
Yes I blacked all the tyres . Maybe just the photo. The tread of course not showing as has been driven between cleaning and the photo's
The only downer is both front wheels are kerbed. The nearside is not too bad and may try to polish out , the drivers side is gouged though. Expect I will get it done before the winter.

Lol, this was last winter, I am one of those who always wear shorts whatever the weather, but when the water freezes as it hits the car I have concede defeat. Having lived on the Pennines for over ten years a winter down here is the equivalent to a summer up there...

Bad news about the wheels - I see you've seen my comment in the other thread on the go on this, if it's light scuffing you can "fix" it. The other guy I've used on wheels local to me in Billericay is the Rim Doctor (Sean) he does a lot of car wheels for dealers and I've found him very good. He's based at Benfleet but does Essex and more. His number is 07912 301793 or google "Rim Doctor". Not expensive either and can also get diamond cut done at a very reasonable rates (at least I thought so).

As an aside - here's what Daryl did with mine http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/thread...ay-replacing-my-s3.273229/page-2#post-2731954
