Hi
Just wondering if anybody had ever attempted this i know i would have to install heat pads and also the other dash control panel

As for wiring what is involved i don't mind having a go at this also i have the S-Line half leather seats will this make a difference ?

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks

I can't see it being much different really.

You will still need power cables and signal cables.

You got seperate switches for your heated seats are they part of the HVAC unit?

Dont have any switches for heated seats i would like the standard ones that are on the heater control

its not as straight forward as just switches and pads as the newer systems work on different heat intensities and feeds that back to the controller so that you don't burn your ****.
I have stripped down a few seats and installed the heated pads including the seats in my own Audi. I have a set of A5 seats in my A3 that weren't heated to begin with but have now installed heated pads into the front and rear seats complete with the switches and control units and wiring to get them working as you would if they were installed from factory.

So i am going to need

Heat pads
Switches
Extra wiring
VCDS coding i would imagine

When you say control units i assume you mean it controls the the heat of the seat so if you press the heated seat button it sends a signal to the control unit which then tell the heat pads what to do

@Ash187
Do you supply wiring looms or just fit them

Would you be able to get me a list of parts i need to get hold of so i could start my search i will find all part numbers and so on i just need to know what i am looking for

from the list i have made i am missing anything ?

Yes on the B7 the switches are integrated into the climate control unit, so as long as you have the right one and wire it correctly it should all work just by sliding the control wheel form 0-6

I fit the seats and wire them up to work. your list seems ok but you might just want to get seats with the heated panels already in them as its cheaper that way.

Are the heat pads expensive how hard are they to install i don't want full leather seats so hence why i want to put them onto my seat half leather i assume they never had many half leather heated seats

And do you mean the B8 switches if so i know i have to get a different heater control panel (one with the heated seat buttons) but just wondering if there is a variation between different heater control units e.g dual zone so on i believe that is what mine are

Kufatec emailed me back and they reckon i need to replace the BCM don't know how true this is

Sorry yes i meant the B8 switches, you would need to look for the one similar to yours but with the heated seat buttons on them.
the actual pads are very expensive... last time i looked it was like £50 plus postage for each pad second hand (you need 4 pads), which is why i bought seats that already had them in, then took them apart and fitted them into my seats and then sold on the donor seats

Ash187, where in London are you based as i'm interested in getting my seats reto-fitted for heat and the lumber wired up.
The seats are leather s-line with both the options already built it , i know i will have to get a replacement climate control unit
with the heated seat switches in. thanks rgs Alan.
