So, when I ordered my S7, the one thing I really wanted, but Audi UK would not provide was the Black Optic pack on the S7. You can have it on the A7, you can have it on the RS7, but ask for it on the S7 and you will get no where. Its not a UK option, so you can't have it! My dealer offered to help, at around £1k for parts and half a days labour.....

Anyway, fast forward to today, and Ive started the "conversion" myself, with the window chrome and lower mirror cases wrapped in satin black, and my carbon mirror caps installed.

Have to say, Im very happy with the result :grinning:

Impressive! Coming out really well

What's with the door edges though - does that stay on?

Please tell me you are joking with those door edge protectors .

Just push fit , or stuck on and sealed ?

Push fit. I couldn't find any clear ones - While Im careful when opening my doors, the kids aren't LoL

OMG carnage alert !

Take them off immediately , as well as looking vulgar buy spoiling the aesthetics they will make a hash of the paintwork by trapping small particles of grit , they move about traped and damage the paintwork .

Like bonnet bras etc , people think they are protecting something but in reality they are doing much worse .

I agree that the chrome to black really suits the paint and the car. The wrap looks really professional. Awesome car.

Thanks!
After some comments, Ive taken the door protectors off, and put the child locks on :grinning:

nice job how much were those wing mirrors?

That looks great and I agree about those carbon mirrors! I'm a big fan of sepang blue but decided against paying for it on my A7 BE, which is tornado grey and could certainly carry a few contrasting highlights - I've considered getting my mirrors & calipers picked out in orange...

Be interested to see these against Sepang - any pictures? Are you also thinking about any decals?

Will be putting some decals on, l've not decided what though. The car is debadged, so not sure whether to go with OEM style S7, or something different (Rings/Quattro/Brembo etc.)

Changing over to my summer rims this afternoon, so will pop a few pics up, without decal :racer:

My Dream car.. looks awesome.

No mudflap at the front Wheel arch? I would add some protection asap.

There are no OEM mudflats available, something do do with the cill extensions. Only aftermarket screw in ones, that look a bit naff.

There is clear paint protection film immediately behind both front and rear wheels, which gives some protection :racer:

Oh had no idea! Well at least then Audi wont be able to argue about it if indeed it would chip some paint away but the protection film should do the job.

Keep up the awesome work with the car!

Has your wrap started to lift or peel anywhere? Mine has i need it redoing i think

Hi Tom,

On the PPF, I have some lifting where the film on the front wings has become unstuck around the front edge of both front wheel arches, and probably where it gets most of its pounding from anything thrown up around the tire. Its noticeable if you look close, but tbh, I've just not done anything about it (yet).

It would likely require both front wings to be stripped and have PPF reapplied from scratch.

Hi mate thanks for the quick reply what about the window trim wrap?

Damn mine is

In patches, or along the long edges?

The problem with wrapping is that once its lifted, its almost impossible to re-stick due to contamination of the sticky surface. Sounds like you need to pay a visit to whoever did the wrapping......

It's just on the roof rails in the corner. I'll go back he said he'd sort it for me.
