Imola Yellow Audi S3 - APR - TTE420 - Audi Tuner Featured April '16

Thanks mate. I tend only drive about at the weekends, not been to any meets this year, weather has been rubbish.
Are you from Manchester?

Cheers Dan looks like It came out great, I just had the rear quarter res prayed after someone dinged her in a car park which they paid for, decided to get all the stone chips touched up at the same time too and the front bumper resprayed but now have a few chips already, a seriously big stone seems to have flicked up and scuffed the rear arch too :(

I'd try polishing that first then if it's broken the paint get some chipex on it.

Never ending cycle though. I've been filling mine in once a year. Doesn't help when I'm chasing down cars and getting sand blasted in the process.

Cheers, think it's definitely broken through as can feel deep grooves, luckily j got all the bodywork done at a quality paint shop so the colour match is pretty much perfect yellow is such a pain

I am from the Manchester area Dan ,it must be great that you can save your car for weekends only mine is a daily driver.
Thanks for the link for the chip-ex repair I am going to give it a go myself.

Went to the Evo Triangle at the weekend had a blast over to Bala too via B4407. Amazing roads, like being in a video game. The H&R springs with H&R ARB's on stock dampers performed perfectly on these roads, no crashiness, no bottoming out, precise decent control and impressed with it.

Anyway got some air and proper dented my exhaust. Hopefully Milltek can repair and charge my tips to black ones at the same time.

Also got a teaser pic for my next upgrade. Can you guess.

I'm thinking its a cage. Am I right?

After a couple of mega busy weeks finally got time to install some new seats. Recaro wingbacks, this is perfect timing for Croft end of June.

Contemplating going down the route of a rear half cage and with carpeted rear like the GT3RS.

Great build mate, just had an epic hour long read of the thread. I've only had Stage2+ in mind for mods but that tte420 set up looks to be a great bit of kit, im starting to think i should have started off with APR now :boxing:

Been busy this weekend getting my car ready for Croft next Friday.

Fitted a pair of TTRS brakes with Vagbremtechnic mount kit for 345 discs. Whacked in a set of new Tarox Corsa pads. They need bedding in over the next week so they can be ready for some abuse.

My wheels wouldn't fit over the calipers (genuine 18" Rotors, and 18" pre face lift alloys) so research long and hard in to spacer kits. Eventually found a new solution from ST called their DZX series, 12.5mm with a moulded insert to keep them hub centric. Very good product and perfect fitment leaving 2.5mm gap between the calipers and the wheel spokes.

After some heavy track sessions at Croft my brakes were very hot, that hot my wheel bolts were hot to touch.

To help with this heat issue I installed the RS3 brake air ducts that force air to the disc and calipers. Going to Donnington this weekend so will see how well they work.

They look cool, do they sit flat like an air brake or are they angled slightly to the disk?

Removing your backing plates will aid with cooling too

They are angled to force air towards the exposed part of the hub behind the caliper.

I will be watching you then from the sidelines .

Make sure you wave.

Totally the 2nd best colour off S3 Audi produced and i have to say when i had mine 2011 plate what a head turner it was so your 1 really takes me down memory lane . And for Audi best colour of S3 has got to be the Green in my opinion but not got round to purchasing one yet so will just need to stick to my Sprint Blue .

Thanks. I did want a sprint blue one first after having a nogaro blue S3 8L. After seeing how many of them were about in Manchester I decided on the yellow. I do like the green but I think the merlin purple has to be the best colour.

Yeah saw your car out on track on Sunday too. Defo out for a long time which is a credit to the car for no brake fade etc.
Moved along very nicely too!

After struggling to get in to 4th on my past few track days decide to do some upgrades.
42 draft designs gear linkage bush kit. Made a massive difference to the feel. Of each gear shift. Highly recommend it and easy to fit yourself. The picture below shows the two gear selector bushes and in the background the three bracket bushes.

When you fit then make sure you follow the instructions to realign the shifters cables. I couldn't get in to first gear when I tested then, until I reset them.
