More info on the mk3 TT RS -

Audi's all new TT RS was seen spotted at a petrol station in Granada, Spain last week and this must be pretty much what the new RS will look like, can you see much changing from when it hits UK showrooms next year? Of course it will need to make an appearance at next years Geneva motor show first. Audi sources claim that the new TT RS will be powered by an updated version of the RS3's current 2.5 litre turbo charged unit tuned to around 400 BHP and the surprise to many of you will be the inclusion of a six speed manual as well as the dual clutch auto with all - wheel drive Quattro as standard. I also learnt that the upcoming RS will feature advanced OLED tail lights as an optional extra and Audi has yet to release any performance figures. Visually, this car reminds me of the Quattro sport concept which has 420 BHP in a 2.0 litre turbo engine. Audi clearly doesn't mind putting any camouflage on it anymore so the official RS launch can't be far away. So we'll await it's final specs.

It will be interesting to see how this develops. Over here in Canada, they stopped bringing over any manual TT or TTS years ago. You can only get Quattro and the S-Tronic box (no FWD models and no TDI). The one exception was the existing generation TT RS: that was only available in a manual here. They sold the allocation quite quickly and not too many to be seen on the "previously loved" sites.

TTRS usually has more power than RS3 though? Great for hairdressers in a hurry ;)

TX.

Still looking for an old TTRS ragtop without the 'fixed' rear wing and off to view a spot-on rare find tomorrow... :yahoo:

Mega map, drives like an MG Montego Turbo with ooodles of torque steer - on a dry road and diving to the nearside manically before the Haldex catches up - and 12mpg with two OAPs evaluating.; FUN mind... :whistle2:

This car has way more options than advertised - 20-inch wheels and auto everything - and IS an interesting machine - but it's Ibis white so with its other issues developed into a no no - still looking...:search:

I could get one for you here in the UK and post it to Canada Mr. T - with that all important fixed rear wing of course...:whistle2:

More important is the lack of weight and shorter chassis, teminator x; way more chuckable is a TTRS than the RS3; loving our RS3 mind but still looking for that certain TTRS

Yeah, but the steering wheel would be on the right (i.e., incorrect!) side...

Look upon that as a challenge Mr. T, I certainly did when driving in your neck of the woods - and most enjoyable that was too...

Soooo, 12 mpg, very impressive. Was that due to the map or were those two "enthusiastic" OAPs?

Quite a challenge, seeing as our government won't allow the import of right-hand drive cars unless they are 15 years old or older (this allows the boy racer types to bring over some old Skylines in which to terrorise the locals).

It was already 12mpg when the keys were handed over Mr. T so, just to check, I did a reset and set off ; OK we did give it due diligence, as one should, but the average did tumble again from 19mpg ending up at 12mpg; only got below that once before but that was in an RS7

But we still didn't say no straight away, went off to a pub for lunch and pondered the merits of the TTRS roadster over our current TT Sport roadster and calculated ho long and how much £s it would take to get the TTRS in a similar condition

Good fun mind

Shocking to hear of your Governmental attitude to right-hand drive cars, I didn't know that: good job your snow-thrower has a central control.. :racer:
