I still have the 2011 disc that came with my car .

There is a seller on eBay called "vagpartz" who is selling some high quality OEM replacement discs .

The first listing is the 2016 one that claims it performs a software upgrade to your RNSE . Has anyone bought this disc ?

In the same listing there is a link to the 2015 disc that states only that disc has the 7 digit postcode .

As well as this there are Genuine 2016 discs for £40 on eBay .

I'm a bit confused which one to go for as one of my friends bought one of these "High quality " discs and claims they take a good 15/20 seconds to load up .

2016 disk does do a software update even coming from the 2015 disk and they do sometimes take longer to load ,seems the newer rnse gloss surround has a weaker laser in it .the older model seems to work better with them .
i haven't bought the disk from them i just have it

Be very careful if you have an sds unit as some of these are firmware programmed & can remove the sds with these nav dvd's.

That is really cool the 7 digit post code search, So much easier to find things!

I am slightly worried now as I have the newer RNSE with SDS. So if i put in the 2016 DVD will that wipe my SDS feature?

il check tomorrow , i have the 2016 disk in il check to see if the software update it did has left the sds option intact,also seems like the 2016 disk doesnt have 7 digit postcode option at the moment as this is added by a seprate software which isnt updated yet for the 2016 disk . but it loads instantly like an original disk ,whereas the 2015 disk is slower to load ,due i think to the added info for postcode and speed camera option.

update is sds is unaffected after the software update to v0220 which comes with the 2016 disk .

So is this 7 digit postcode a hacked/modified firmware or just an updated legit audi disc?

its added to the disk image thats taken from a legit disk . but it does seem to cause laggy boot up of the nav disk on the newer units as the laser in them are weaker and some struggle to read them as easy .
the 2016 disk doesn't have 7 digit postcode as of yet as the software used to add it hasen't been updated yet to allow them to be added

Yeah mkII laser is rubbish mine needs cleaning I think, I don't have a nav disc in there at the moment as it just doesn't like it...

Does anyone know if there was another 2015 update to the RNS-E that gave it a better screen? Or are all mkII units identical?

So I ordered the 2015 RNSE disc with the 7 digit post code and speed camera included .
As well as this he included 2016 discs for the rest of Europe .

The moment I inserted the 2016 discs it started updating the RNSE . As far as I know it updates the traffic notification system but I haven't noticed much else . A previous 2015 disc I got took a good minute to load up what was really annoying . This one takes about 5/10 seconds to load up what is ideal

I purchased it on eBay from the seller Vagpartz in Glasgow . I highly recommend him as he took £10 off the price and was happy to answer all my questions .

for ppl who want the 2015 disk with speed cameras be aware that the loading time is longer due to the disk been modded ,for anyonewanting to do there own ,all thats needed is a verbatim dvd+r dual layer disk . and a older pioneer writer ,for any one that needs a link to either the 2015 disk or the new 2016 disk(no speedcams or 7 digit postcode)on 2016 . pm me
