VCDS SECURITY ACCESS AND DPF FORCED REGENERATION PROBLEM

I received a VCDS HEX+CAN from Marshall's yesterday.

I am really struggling with it to be honest. I have followed all of the instructions and downloaded the latest software update from the Ross Tech website.

I have registered on their website, but for some reason haven't got any confirmation of the registration so cannot post my questions to them.

I am trying to do a forced regeneration on my brothers 1.4 Polo tdi bluemotion 9n3 model and will be using it in the future for my 2.0 TDI Black Edition. I have followed the instructions on the website, as well as forums and the instruction manuals. I can't even find the right place to do this, because I do not know what to type in for the security access code on 01-Engine.

There's not a single option for the Regeneration process and I'm getting quite frustrated with it, and honestly feel like returning it. It's not working properly I believe as the options others have mentioned are not there for me.

Also, when I set it up to do the test run on the USB option, it says 'CAN- not ready'.

Can somebody please shed some light on this?

I've been through that already. The problem I've having, is that I just don't know where to get this Security Access code -16 from?

I've got a feeling, that is the reason I'm not able to see any of the options

Or could it be because I'm running Windows 8?

Yes. And this is fine. I am running the latest one, as I only received my cable yesterday ( 15.7)
