ive just replaced rear pads audi a4 quattro 3.0 and now the handbrake wont release. can anybody help.
thanks..

yes mate. bought new tool for the job. did 1 side turned car around no problem.but after doing other side which i never test drove.got a bit late so just finished and went in. came out to go work 2.30am and noticed brake had come on. wasnt on straight away for sure car pulled away fine. felt it pull on gradually and now wont release. ive tried pulling handbrake up and releasing seems slack enough at handbrake inside but is pulled tight at calipers. got me stumped.

its pulled tight on both calipers. seems strange as was fine when 1st set of.

just thought you've not moved the cable from its clips have you

Did you set the piston with The hand break off or on

no.didnt touch cables at all. just removed caliper wound piston back new pads in replaced caliper. and thats all.

handbrake was of mate. both bottom sliders on each side were dry. top 1s wer ok. used copper slip on em. all 4 were sliding ok before putting back together.

will i just need to use no1 tool (hammer!) on em. could i have tightened anything to tight. only removed 2 13mm bolts on both sides to do job.

need to release brake somehow. cant tow it like this

See if you can un hook the hand break cable from the calliper some how
