Have recently acquired a set of 996 turbo front calipers.
Have sourced everything needed, just wandering what pads people are using or would recommend.
I realise track pads are best but a cheap oem set will do for starters...

The OEM pads for these calipers will be made by either Textar or Brembo (most likely the latter), both of which are more than adequate for road use and probably your most cost effective option... Should be able to get them from most auto factors

Yea i was happy getting cheaper ones, then read somewhere that some are 140mm wide as apposed to 190mm which they are meant to be??!
Id be happy with these as long as they do a good enough job....

Are these the calipers you showed me in a PM mate? or a different set?

the ones you showed me via PM wern't turbo calipers. Just regular 996 fronts.

Heavier than 996 fronts.
Pads are more expensive.
Discs are twice the price, And heavier.

Hmmmmmmm.

Not all bad tho.
If i shop around can keep costs down.
Found ebc discs for £150 a pair.
Worked out that total spend will be roughly same as a LCR setup if you factor in new discs etc which i would have anyway.
We'll see...

Carrier's and new braided lines = £200.

What setup you got Karl?

Just a thought:

You told me last night youd bought a complete fitting kit with carriers from Dave B?

Have you bought the fitting kit for 996 fronts or turbo fronts?

Turbo fronts.
I emailed them and double checked part no etc..

Ive just bought 996turbo fronts part no's 429 + 430 havnt fitted mine yet as trying to decide on pads too. Il be buying standard everyday set and a track day set too :)

Nice, how much that set you bk then?

I used Pagid RS29s on my 996t front set up, the genuine oem ones from Porsche were around £180 iirc.
