Looking to do a S3 conversion on my A3 black edition in the next couple of months.

Anyone got any parts they could part company with? Side skirts, back bumper... cash waiting!

Have a picture of the mucky old thing took this morning!

It's gona be a big job £££. Looks nice already
Cheers mate.

Just want to change it up, getting a bit bored of the look. And with not being able to afford to running costs of an S3 thought this was the only option. Only really need to source the parts, fitting/painting can be done by myself and a friend, but its just finding them!

When you say conversion are you just meaning body panels?

Ive got S3 suspension & front brakes here.

I had the exact same car as you and decided to do the full conversion after a year . One thing that annoyed me was after june 2010 all 140 TDI's only came with one exhaust as opposed to the twin tip most A3's have .

The best place to buy parts is ebay in my opinion . I found a seller on ebay germany who sold me the front S3 bumper , Side skirts , RS3 rear bumper (only difference is the diffuser) for about £1000 including shipping . This was way cheaper than audi even with the trade discount .
I got the Aluminium mirrors for £190 brand new from ebay germany as well what is less than half of what audi charge you .

In terms of fitting the front and back bumper is plug and play . the only hard part of the conversion is the side skirts . One of my friends decided to leave the side skirts but i feel it is more important than the bumpers as it really helps the stance and streamlines the car . There are a bunch of threads on here on how to go about doing this . The main concern is the existing door sills that have S-line written on them are glued on the car so removing them can be very tricky without damaging them . One easy option is to just buy S3 ones but this adds to the cost and i didnt want to have S3 badged anywhere on my car . If you have a good bodyshop then with a bit of help from the guides on here they should have no problem fitting them .

In terms of the brakes i decided to go for EBC slotted discs and Red stuff pads . They were way cheaper than S3 discs and offered a great improvement and look on the standard A3 brakes . I still have the S- line suspension as i didn't feel it was worth the money to drop the car a further 30mm to S3 height . Im thinking about selling the car in a year or two so spacers is one of the last upgrades i might do as they are fairly cheap.

I highly recommend doing the conversion as it makes the car stand out even more . Another bonus was i sold my previous parts on ebay what helped me get some money back :)
