Since fitting a front mount to my car I keep getting epc light flash up but if I turn the car on and off it clears
Have done a throttle body reset and still the same any ideas
Have also scanned the car and have same faults as I did before fitting the front mount
Speed sensor
Camshaft sensor
Cannot get rid of them
Thanks

Did the cam belt last weekend refitted as was two teeth out

Would that course the epc light to come on as only just started since fitting front mount also the map sensor was missing it's rubber o ring and was a swine to get out a lot of hard work

Yes... throws the EPC...

The o-ring missing will cause a boost leak and pressure drop... the other code will be the result

I assume you have cleared the code from the last time and its returned?

Yes but when the garage tried fitting the map sensor it would not go in with the o ring so they said they left it off
Thanks

Then they are idiots... a little washing up liquid or even grease would have helped it slide in.... needs sorting dude

The o-ring on the map sensor is an oil resistant one IIRC... ideally needs to the correct one and it NEEDs to be able to seal.... without an o-ring it will be peeing boost out of it... you could get away with a n other o-ring but it would need to of the right size to ensure a seal although how long it would last I don't know...

I don't know why anyone that knows anything about cars would think fitting something into a pressurised pipe without its seal is ok to do... If they think its fine to not use the o-ring then I don't hold out much hope they can rectify the issue without replacing the sensor completely to ensure its the right fit...

Good luck dude

No lol looks like a £80 fix any reviews on the cheaper ones ?

Genuine sensors are advised

Try the ASN Parts Request for cheap prices on genuine parts... or eBay... just be aware there are two types of sensor in use on 1.8t's....

Have found this pipe was split any idea what it's called and could this be part of my problem ?

Thats not going to help but being a tooth out and not having a sealing o-ring in the MAP sensor is an infinitely bigger issue

<tuffty/>

Have orded a new map sensor any idea what this pipe is called so can order a new one of eBay
Thanks

Think have sorted the limp mode but on fitting the new breather pipe notice this unplugged and for the life off me cannot see where it's from any idea
