BH's Sonax Xtreme Matt Finish Cockpit Cleaner Review
Product
The product packaged in a good quality HDPE bottle with an atomiser type spray head. The tested bottle size is 300ml and the product is also available in 500ml bottle too.
The labeling is good quality and tells you all you need to know on how to use the product
The bottle does have a professional feel to the packaging, which, to be honest I have come to expect from Sonax products.
The cleaner fluid itself is clear and smells, when you take the lid off, like washing up liquid to me. However, when the product is used it smells more like a 'tutti fruiti' type smell. Quite nice.
Sonax 'speak' from their website -
http://www.sonax.com/Products/Xtreme...er-matt-effect
'Cleans and maintains all interior plastic car parts. Reliably prevents electrostatic charging and is, therefore, dust repellent. Renews and maintains the matt and grained cockpit surfaces of many car types (soft-feeling effect). Leaves a refreshing fragrance. Silicone- and solvent-free'
Method
I used my wife's Ford Ka as the 'test mule'
I know the instructions say to spray the product direct onto the surface, but I didn't use this method as sometimes with interior products they tend to go on the interior glass etc
So I did a 'real world' test, spraying the product directly onto a MF cloth and then wiping it onto the interior surfaces which works for me
50/50 shot. Sonax cleaned surface on the left
Finished dash -
The surfaces were more dusty than dirty. The product did a good job and left a pleasant smell behind. Not too strong, but that could be because I never sprayed the product directly onto the surface.
Conclusion
I do like the smell of the finished product and it did seem to do an effective job of cleaning an refreshing the interior plastics on the wife's Ka interior trims.
However, would I use it again? Difficult one for me this one. I normally use a diluted APC to clean the plastic interior surfaces of my cars, which like this product, leaves a nice smelling matt finish.
A good product if you want a dedicated interior cleaner
Price
Cheapest I can find it at is 500ml for £7.99 delivered at Eurocarparts
