hi all, will be putting my summer tyres on in the next month or so . I still have 2 as new Conti 225/50/17 which will go back on but I will need to replace 2 of them what tyres do you run on your C6 allroad ? Maybe looking for a change from the Conti's due to cost of them. Would love to hear what others fin on there C6 for the summer but obviously still sticking to stock size wheels 17".

In quattro all tires should be the same. Not even equally worn out but same make as different producers use different type of rubber etc and even tyre in same size might have different rolling resistance and this can cause torsen damage. Handbook should say there's small tolerance allowed in tread depth, from what I remember is 1,6mm and You should swap front with rear regularly to avoid bigger gap.

Running with different make tyres isn't going to cause any issues especially if they are all new. As long as they are all the same size that won't be an issue. If it was that critical then the transmission would blow up if you ever tried to run the spacesaver spare.
There are plenty of people running different size wheels front and rear on quattros with no issues as long as the rolling radius is close.
The new Eagle F1 assy 3 is now available, I will be getting a set of these for my car come April time.

Thanks for the replies guys , I was asking as I would like to try and get away from my Conti's if poss but all down to price the Conti's are nice and quite but don't seem to last long for the price. I have 2 with around 6.5 mm left on them so I will put these on the rear and was considering something like nexen as these lasted ages on my old B7 or possibly Michelin cross climates. I can't wait to get these Dunlop winter sport run flats off as they are awful fir the ride I will never make that mistake again for winters !

Well it's not gearbox but actually torsen suffering from different tyre treads. Audi wouldn't recommend to use same make and depth tyres without the reason. I know someone in Germany who tried to save on tyres and used top makes but different tyres on front and rear on new A6 and after 100.000km car failed. Audi diagnosed damage in torsen but voided warranty because of tyre difference on both axles, also pressures was measured and he was told there was too much of a gap in pressure in all tyres.
But in the end it's Your choice and money. Good luck.

In my opinion You will be better off with even part worn but matching tyres, that's what I would do but decision it's Yours.

Usual 235 45 17 XL flavour Karl ?

Will be interesting if the rim protector is exactly the same as your Asy 2 .
