Hi all,

Some scroats broke into my house yesterday in broad daylight at 6pm and stole the keys to my pride and joy and made off with it. Please be on the look out for a Daytona Grey S3 Saloon reg JH11 FLY if your looking for parts or someone offers you one on the cheap! It's 65 plate its only 4 months old The front grill still has a tiny amount of damage from where I bumped it previously and the radiator has a dent if you look underneath and you're suspicious of the origins.

Seems this is happening a lot. They were armed with knives so I wasn't going to fight them. It's only a car!

Pic attached..

Sorry to hear it mate.
I was looking at an 8V S3 at Huddersfield Audi, a traffic cop was there on another matter and we got chatting. He said I don't want to put you off as it's a lovely car, but they are one of the most stolen cars around!
I'll keep an eye out around bradford mate but he did say you generally never see them again.
It is only a lump of metal at the end of the day, better to let it go than risk getting harmed

Our Justice system is to soft on scum like this. 6 months that's the average for stealing a car.
I say cut their hands off, or at least give them 5 years inside.

I'm loosing count on the number of S3 thefts reported on here .

Yep, tap on the hand and don't do it again .

Remove those tealeaf hands .

Show the removal video to crims and watch the crime rate diminish .

I think Audi /all manufactures should fit trackers as standard on all these types of cars.Should help get some of them back...

Would you really want a stolen car back?

If mine were to ever be stolen I'd hope that the thief rolled the car 10 times and couldn't walk for the rest of their lives :whistle2:

I just wouldn't ever feel the same about the car knowing it had been taken

Fair point..But it might make the thieving 'scrotes' think twice about taking one??

A tracker and something where you can remotely disable, lock the doors and call the police would be great.

Though I'd imagine the scroats would be tearing up the interior trying to get out...so not sure if I'd ever want that same car back again.

Get six months for stealing a car is quite harsh (though not harsh enough), we had a cyclict killed locally (I'm a keen cyclist) due to 'careless driving' left a young family fatherless but driver didnt even get a custodial sentance......

But then prisons are full to bursting.

I hope you dont get your S3 back and the insurance pay out quickly for you.

*Rant*
Yeah, it seems that killing a cyclist is regarded as a minor incident, it's a complete joke, killing is killing.
When you're in control of 1.5 tons of metal and not paying attention and you then run down a cyclist or a pedestrian you deserve many years in jail.
I drive every day and it amazes me how many people still use their phone when driving or just generally drive crap. I thought it was bad when I was on a motorcycle, but holy crap, when I'm on a road bike (training, I'm not a commuter) cars virtually push me out the way.
There's no serious deterrent, that's the problem.

Back on topic, hope the insurance covers your loss. Got Gap?

Sorry to hear this mate, hope you get another sorted soon. As said above I'd not want it back tbh.

It's maddening to think you work hard for something nice and some **** thinks they can just take it! It's the other innocent road users they could injure/kill whilst they have your car as well :(

Example from the news a few weeks back a stolen RCZ:

That was in Wyke, down the road from me.
Imagine that coming towards you, it must of been truly frightening!

Blimey.....the screaming sent chills through me. That could have been any of us or our families.

To the OP.
So sorry to hear about this, but glad you are ok. Were you in the house at the time? Did you see/confront them?

After all the car thefts about 10 years ago, things had improved a lot. A few years back, there were very few thefts on these forums. But now it's back to the bad old days. Regular occurrence.
So what's changed? Who's doing it?

Very sorry to the OP. Hope you get a resolution soon and the little scrotes end up seriously injured in a ditch somewhere.

Think there are 3 types of thefts for these cars. (1) Joyriders......probably the most opportunistic of key thefts, (2) Targetted for parts or to be shipped abroad, maybe can involve a violent theft, and (3) Targetted but the car wanted as some sort of getaway car. Probably the most dangerous as the thieves will be hell bent on getting the car whatever. The S3 is probably very desirable for this type of activity, and guess the saloon is top of the list.

All very depressing. Keep mine locked away and usually other cars parked in front of the garage too. Also have some additional measures. Doesn't stop me worrying though. Wish the penalties were higher for this sort of thing. Makes decent people's pleasures in life that they have worked hard for difficult to enjoy sometimes.

The annoying thing is even if the car is never found or written off you still have to foot the bill for your insurance price hike

Then it fills with sleeping gas

There you go! Perfect solution.

Maybe even be able to talk to them through the car speakers using your phone.

This is becoming like Saw lol.

Edit: By the way, great photos on your website. Done a few warrior events!

It's amazing how this car is gets stolen a lot over there in the UK.

The 8V is a sleeper car here in the States.

Sadly over here in the UK we can't shoot the feckers that break into our houses to steal from us :(
