I have a 2002 Audi S3 with a Symphony II stereo. I used to have a Parrot MKi9200 for bluetooth calls and bluetooth music streaming from my phone, but I want something a bit more subtle without having to stick a screen and remote on the dash.

I found a Connects2 unit which would have been perfect. There wouldn't be a visible display and I could answer falls with the FF button on the stereo, however, the sales team at Connects2 have told me it won't work on the Symphony II as it doesn't have a cd multi-changer input.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for something similar? I know the Dension units get mentioned, but are they the only option for what I'm after?

Thanks :)

Symphony II does have a CD changer option. So does the symphony 1.

You could order the symphony II with an Ipod option in the old A3/A4/TT/R8 which used the 6 CD changer option to control it.

Does your Symphony 2 have built in 6 disc changer? Mine does, which means I don't think the Connect2 will work :(

All symphony II's have a built in 6 cd changer, but they also have an external CD changer connector

So a connects 2 will work? That could be a good short term option for me!

Thanks for that and apologies for only seeing your reply now. The drawing on my Symphony II looks alot like the one you posted :)

I just can't figure out the cabling. I've currently a single black 20pin block which I was wonderied if it plugs in to the red block in the pic below which I'm guessing is some sort of mini iso adapater? Then just the yellow mini iso plug goes in to the back of the Symphony 2 as the Line-Out? What then about the blue and green plugs on the adapter?

Does the blue and green plug from the middle cable in the pic below plug in to the back of the stereo, with the other side plugging in to the Connects2 device?

Some adverts for this device on eBay say they are compatible with the Symphony 2. Other say it's not. Nobody will give me a refund if I open the packaging and discover it doesn't work so I don't want to waste £90 if I can help it. Hoping someone else has already taken the risk lol

The other option is to pay a little extra and go with the Dension Lite BT which I've been told by Dension will work with the Symphony 2.

I thought your big black connector goes into the RED socket.

Remove the green and blue from the yellow and add your new green and blue from the connects 2 harness in the same way.

Connect the black loose wire to ground

The red wire I'm guessing need to go to a fuse box and be fused, but I've never fitted a connects 2 device so I cannot say, but they must give you a wiring plan of some description surely?

It probably doesn't massively help but I have the Concert 2+ in mine and my Connect2 Bluetooth box is due to be delivered tomorrow. I was planning on fitting it as soon as I can and doing a bit of a write up in case you want tho wait to see how that goes?

Thanks Andy. In the end I just ordered one, fitted it and it works just fine.

Quite a nice subtle system and also works with Google Maps and CoPilot Satnav apps on my phone, although there is a small delay cutting over to bluetooth so it misses the first word or two of the directions.

Sorry, I totally forgot to follow up with this after talking about it!

I fitted mine too (after a slight bit of faffing that eventually got sorted) and I'm also pretty happy with it. I've routed mine into the glovebox by drilling a hole for the loom at the back and then run the microphone behind the dash and up the A-Piller (didn't both going into the head lining).

Music sound quality is good, comparable to CD I'd say and the box auto connects to BT pretty consistently. Phone quality also seems good. Reception has that annoying "phone quality" muffled EQ, but that seems to be the way it is on every system I've ever seen/used. Recipients of calls say it sounds pretty much crystal clear even on the motorway. USB charge port works nicely (I've picked a small 40cm ultra-thin black lighting cable that just pops out directly behind my brodit dash mount and is very neat and tidy).

All in all it's given me all the features I wanted in a OEM looking/discrete system at a pretty low price. Very happy!
