Great cars.
People claim that the RS3 makes an amazing noise.
It doesn't, a C63 does though, sounds absolutely glorious!

I'd recommend a two car life if you can, mundane run around and RWD fun is a great combo.

Go for it!

I'm seriously considering a C63 or C43 AMG (even before its launched in the summer the latter has changed from C450 AMG Sport). I think the launch of the 4wd C43 AMG will put bring the used C63 AMG prices down so it will be an interesting choice, but later in the year.

I could be tempted..but tedium of the Aygo would put me in the nut house within a few weeks

Im a sucker for the noise, just woundering what else the merc got going for it?

No mate, not a fan of Mercedes full stop!

I think I can relate to u there!

The
only Mercedes I actually like are probably the s class/coupe, cls, e class coupe n the sls, the others are just so plasticy inside it's like how can that be premium?!
Cousin once had a brand new 15 plate e class fully specced for the weekend and while the ride was like ur floating in the clouds, the diesel engine was way too noisy for that class of car n the interior build quality was nowhere near as good as my a3! Which is a couple of classes under.
Not being a badge snob but the reason I prefer audi over BMW n merc is that u get a good mix between comfort, performance and efficiency.
The only thing I don't like about bmws are their firm firm seats! N the odd m sport suspension on some of their cars, other than that I find their build quality OK but still not as good as audi!‎

RWD, AMG handling.
Fun factor.
Test drive one.

Perfect for a weekend car. Using the Aygo will just make the C63 feel so much more special, which is a feeling you may never get in the S3.

I haven't had one, but have had a SLK55 and it was a lot of fun.
A friend of a friend has one and he loves his.

C63.....walk with a dinosaur as they say yeah fugly looking fast mothers, none of ye could afford to own one as a daily driver,S3 isn't a rival but could still beat it off the mark, wake up the rival to the c63 when new was the B8 Rs4 rear wheel drive and far more attractive than the G-wagon and the old chintzy interior each to their own l suppose, but just a thought l can see the attraction of these cars because they are very cheap used compared to other's in its class Ps wouldn't be seen dead in a Aygo just so l could afford to drive a fast car at the weekends

It's a great noise, and I do like the shape, but I wouldn't swap my old beast for one....esp now that it leaves them way behind....LOL

If I was spending £60k, or second hand equivalent, I'd go with Cayman GTS or Jag F Type

Your S3 isn't exactly standard or representative anymore!! :p

It steers and handles well for a start!! :D

But it's the smile on your face as the AMG goes backwards and can't understand why....

the audi was very sure footed by comparison

Yep, rear wheel drive with a muppet behind the wheel .........recipe for disaster!! lol

Solid performance from the Audi, handled that 20 mph roundabout with ease :)

I have considered it and discounted it but will consider the new one again!
I don't like Audi stronic much but the MB auto is nowhere near as good as stronic, noise/engine etc are superb but with the interior not that different to any other C class (I also hate the MB permanent non-touch screen interface) then lots and lots of extra cash for the performance/dynamics when lets be honest the S3 can already get down the road pretty swiftly. When I drove it I found myself looking for high speed roll ons as boy does it shift but 9 journeys out of 10 would I get there any quicker....dunno.
When my local dealer gets a demo S with sports exhaust I will be going to see (OK I admit it hear it).

If you get the chance I'd deffo think about it, way more of an occasion to drive than the S3 and much much more road presence. It's also more comfortable, more roomy and even if your S3 was tuned to 1000 bhp people still wouldn't give it a second glance going down the road compared to the C63.
Hot hatch owners constantly go on about how their stage 5363 car mullers super saloons but would you honestly care with that 6.2 lump and eisenmann exhaust as standard in your ears? No.
Running costs aren't that bad, fuel is the major one and rear tyres as they are skinny for the power it has but they are reliable. I'd go for a performance pack one with the LSD alcantara bits and 480 bhp.

I think you have a very good point.....one has presence,and a sense of occasion,the other doesn't.

Both are fun though, and appeal to different people.....part of me would really enjoy a C63,but then again....
