Anyone know this Sepang at Lincoln Audi?

I subcontract to Lincoln Audi (amongst other dealers), I can vouch for them, it's not and never has been a demo.
Their first RS3 demo is a black 15 plate with light grey / silver leather, currently for sale I believe.

I was looking at this car on Monday, it's parked next to the portacabin (temp used sales office) on the pitch.

Reasonable spec, and at a glance quite tidy condition (although I didn't look closely)

Cheers.
Ive been offered a reasonable deal on it against my S3.....

Just unsure if I want £42k sat in a car!!

But oh the sound if that 5 pot! We test drive the demo in Aberdeen a few months ago and I smiled the entire time....!

No.

It has tech, comfort and sound, black packs.

Does look good....

Apparently they have a guy with a Golf R to trade in who is coming to try it out tomorrow.....

Maybe its not meant to be for me?

Will wait and see what the next day or two brings.......I dont want to rush into a decision on a £42000 car!

Trading a golf r in.... Surely lies lol

Mag ride anyway it's awesome suppose the secondary cat would sort exhaust for not a lot

Yea wa
Doesn't say mag ride though just sports suspension.

TX.
yea wasn't clear a ment

I agree on dynamic being a must have but if not I'd at least want mag ride and deal with exhaust later

Seems there arent a lot out there with the dynamic pack......

Will have to wait and see what happens over the next day or so....

As said, dynamic pack is a must, 90% of owners on here have ordered it with the dynamic pack. Rest of the spec looks perfect though

This car was originally registered in the SW. Given the Reg no, I would wager Exeter, Taunton, Plymouth ... Why would a SW car end up in Lincoln ??? Something worth investigating. Not a bad spec..

Dynamic Pack is not a must unless you plan to drive like a *** 24/7... Standard Sport suspension is fine I reckon.

Apparently owner traded in for an rs4...

Guess Lincoln was where the deal was.....its just the same for me if I buy it.

They would be selling my Aberdeen registered S3!!

Its sooo difficult to decide.....I love my S3 but the RS3 is my dream car, regardless of what anyone else thinks in here! I drove the Nardo grey demonstrator at Aberdeen Audi around 4 months ago.....I never stopped smiling fir the entire test drive!

I had dynamic pack on my car, I didn't drive like that....

It's mainly for the mag ride and sports exhaust

I wasn't going to have mag ride as every car iv had with similar or been in was crap no diff but this system is amazing. Sold the car for me along with the engine. Sports exhaust I wasn't too bothered about as standard sounded great but for 500 more was a no brainier

I didn't really want the noisy exhaust as I found it too noisy for me. It's down to choice isn't it. Standard Suspension is just fine for 99% of my motoring needs

Mag ride vastly improves the 8v driving experience.
I guess you'd still have a RS, it just won't be as good as one with Dynamic Pack.

Kugaman, if it really is your "dream car", hang fire for the facelift, then order one.
Nothing worse than buying your dream car and it being bettered in a matter of months, thus creating a new dream car.

I think you may be trying to justify your choice Craig.

I believe the 8v is a great car but far better with Pan Roof, Tech Pack, B&O, mag ride, noisier exhaust (delete as appropriate) or even Floret Silver Snake??

That's right RG.

Best to wait for the face lift if you are not 100% sure on changing or the £figures.

Plus never good part exing a new car so soon, best to keep a car 2 or 3 years before changing if you can.

Thanks Craig, I think your spot on.
My wife said the exact same thing last night. I would buy the car and then within a few months I would want the update.
For info, the deal I was offered was this:
RS3 sale price £42k
Trade in my 2015(15) S3 sportback manual in Sepang with comfort,***, red calipers, tinted windows and done 3000 miles.
Cost to change - £13500 plus £275 ved, £80 plate transfer.
Quite a good deal I thought but at £42k the RS3 still seems to be pricey....

Adjustable suspension(mag ride) is a must have option on any RS /S car if you want to get the best of both worlds ,it makes the RS3 comfortable and refined then at the press of a button BONKERS .At the moment Prices are settling on used and there's decent discounts to be had on new cars but when a facelift comes in discount will be hard to achieve on an order and used prices will fall on pre facelift cars.

Why not wait for the new model though as that will be better than the facelift ;) or even the face lifted new model?! Whilst you're waiting some of us are driving ours ;)

Same here - plus I'm not convinced on mag-ride: I'd prefer to play with tyre pressures (and I do have my own settings) and have a consistent 'feel' to the car rather than 'mess' with suspension settings on-the-go; how long will it be before someone makes the error of going around the same corner as always on 'dynamic' with the car on 'comfort' and finds it doesn't react quite the same...:racer:

Not a surprise really with demand still so high & the RS3 being so desireable.

Plenty of time for you to test drive though and plan your own individual spec ... that's half the fun :)

Sounded like a pretty decent trade in the guy offered you on the manual S3 though.Dont think you'd have been losing too much on the new price paid.Would have been a fairly pain free swap at that.
However not meant to be.

I have a FWD A3 with no bells or whistles, so nothing to do with justifying any choice. I can't justify my current car at all, there's not much worth justifying other than a means to an end and a reasonable commuter.
Have had S3 with and without mag ride and the difference is very noticeable and a vast improvement in the mag ride variant.
Just giving advice is all. I'd hate for someone to make the wrong choice in spec.

For someone who's not bothered, you post a fair bit about the facelift..........

I'm only replying to others posting about it, perhaps if they posted less I would too! It's all guesswork anyway, who knows what will happen.

Hopefully after Geneva next month we will get some firm information on the face lift including ... cosmetic changes, spec changes, virtual dash, new colours, price increase (maybe) and timescales from order book opening to when deliveries are likely to start from.

Then we can all stop speculating !
