Since changing my wheels I just think the car doesn't look " right"
Can't decide if dark wheel doesn't suit blue or is it the chrome trims etc etc?
Any opinions guys?

not sure if it's my eyesight but the car looks to tall , maybe its the 19" rims doing it or because its parked up on the pavement, just cant put my finger on it to be honest, wheels are great but maybe arent the best colour or maybe the contrast of the wheel colour /chrome work trim on a blue car are just not working.
Its a personal choice thing mate, others may love it, looks nice to me but not i'm not 100% sure its the best it could be.
I have the same problem in a way, i love certain rims in black and gunmetal/anthracite but its a personal thing really and i'm not 100% they will look right on my black avant either, but, a lot of those colour rims do look good on other black a4's on here etc.....
maybe if the suspension was lowered more they would look better, for me it looks a bit like the suspension has been jacked up when it should be getting lowered with the rim/tyre profile....just my input.

another though , what offset are they, after seeing a bigger image of your a4 , the wheel/tyre combo seem to look lost in the arches mate, allmost as if they are to small in diameter, maybe if they were further out in the arch they would appear to look suited to the wheel apperture if you get my drift.

i really like my current 18" rims but keep thinking they look to chunky so toying with going a darker colour with thinner spokes, maybe its all in my head.....
this is what i'm on at present , i'm going to get some coilovers during the week to get the front down more, maybe it will look better then.

Think it needs lowered to suit those bigger rims

Nice car, I would definitely delete the chrome and get the rear of the car tinted, it would change the look completely.

De-chrome with those wheels, or keep the chrome and get silver wheels for a nice clean look? I like those wheels so I'd say de-chrome with tints and keep the wheels

Thanks for all replys guys, I had been thinking of how losing the chrome and possibly tinting rear windows. As far as offset - I'm not entirely sure but this pic shows more

Lowering- the car is actually in tomorro to have eibach sportline springs fitted so I'll post an update after that.
I'm sure this has been covered a hundred times but what's best option for chrome- dip or wrap?
Quattro- I personally like your car with silver wheels ,again a personal choice.

I wouldn't dip the chrome around the windows and above the doors as it would peel with wear, you are OK to dip the roof bars if you don't intend to use them. For
the chrome trim I used this from some guy on eBay and the overall look is fantastic if you apply it right, plus you get plenty enough if you make mistakes, it's called shadow de chrome tape here is the item number.

you're welcome chap and good luck with it, keep us updated with your progress.

Another vote for tints, I think its a must on the avant. will change to whole look quite abit. Coming along nicely though fella :)

I'd say that the bottom half of the car looks fine so I think the wheels do suit the car, but the contrast to the top half is too much, so the suggestions made by others here make sense.

Black rims with the Blue Body, Black tints and then de Chrome and guess! go Black....lol

My cab in the spring is going to have a Black grill, Black logos etc

Update - eibach sportline fitted

front spoiler too, that'll kill a bit of the gap from road to car, i thought mine was still looking to high with the 19's on, even with the same springs as you, what drop did you go for with your springs mate,

yep looking better allready chap, just need to de-chrome a few areas and your good to go.

My personal opinion is just a light tint at the back mate and it would look perfect!

Looks loads better now. As others have said needs de-chroming along with either tints or blinds in the rear. Blinds being my option!

45/50mm eibach sportline was the spring I fitted!
Tints next up . I now have a nice orange brake warning light on after spring fitting- possible abs wire ?

I've got an S Line on 18 inch five spoke wheels but have a set of 19" RS4 reps coming next week. They need refurbed but not sure what colour to go for, was thinking gunmetal/anthracite - yours look great. My car is crystal blue though.

Seen these locally and I'm seriously tempted now- what's the general opinion? ??(just a quick photo shop)

i say keep your RS4's mate they look loads better, get your tints done instead, then see what you think ?

I'd second this, think the wheels you've got on just now are quality

Hi mate, car looks very nice with that drop, I was also looking at these springs too, what's the ride quality like with them compared to the sline springs? It's just that my wife drives it to do the school run, and don't want my kids sat in the back with there cheeks wobbling all over the place ha, because the sline springs are quite hard already at the mo and I'm on standard 18" with 235/40/18 tyres on. Just need to convince the wife that it's a good idea :grimacing:

Ride quality is spot on, little to no difference other than a little more solid into corners . Would recommend fitting them mate.

Thanks mate, can't wait to show my wife this now, so hopefully fingers crossed, I might be ordering a set :grimacing:

Try some car blinds if you don't want to get windows tinted
Makes a big difference on look of car
I've got them on mine

Can any of you fine gents photo shop a light tint on my car above?
Just wanting a rough idea! Still undecided whether to go back to a silver wheel

what about shadow chrome or similar effect, that way not to dark or light, a bit of both.
Is your a quattro mate.

or, what about these bad boys, 20" and look wicked, if not 19" in the same rim would be cool too mate.
praise to ajax again for this pic, best wheel he's had to date .
if they suited my black avant i'd get a set tonight, i'd still have them in silver but they just would'nt look as good.

Wish I had photoshop when I was younger I was quite good at modding cars on it lowering making c/f ect probably should have been studying but oh well haha!

Those wheels suit the avant shape superbly !

certainly do, but its all in the colour and the colour of the car they are on, they look a bit bland in silver (pic below)
audi A8 / S8 rims

here you go, the same wheels as ajax has just in oem finish on a blue avant, totally different effect, i must say i like the look of the silver /blue.

How did you apply the tape did you remove the trim or do it in place?
