Hey guys so I've been on here for years had a tdi a3 before had a few cars inbertween so when I got rid of my last car decide I wanted my dream car. When these s3 came out I was in school and couldn't afford one. When I finally brought mine it was a dream come true, silghtly reunined because my dream was for it to be in Imola Yellow an mine is in a Green! So I got the car but not the colour. So my girl is a 2002 bam facelift 225 as with a full service. I'm sure u all know the stats I've done a few quick mods like K&N KIT, Forge 007 divert valve, Chipped so now im running around the 260bhp mark. I got the car in September last year and I've serviced it put a new timing kit on it. It's had a m.o.t. And passed with flying colours which is always good when you not long brought the car. It's got a cat back exhaust on it. When I drive through tunnels it screams so loud like a m3 at the top of the rev range. DOES ANYONE ELSE SCREAM LIKE THAT?

I drive it ever day and it's been good to me. At 14400 miles it's still the best car I've own so far!

Nice car. I like the colour.

Good compromise for the colour, it looks really good

Usually when I'm driving at the top of the rev range most of the screaming noise comes from the passenger side I need a bigger exhaust

Welcome to the club, i would keep the colour as it is, its a rare colour (goodwood green) if im not mistaken.

Definatly one of the nicest colours, it looks mint.

Do you have any other modification plans in mind?

As much as I love a fast car I won't go all out on it like others not saying it wrong just not the way I am but yeah I love a few mods. So my next step is new drilled and grooved disc all round, and the Bremo callipers of the Bam cupra R. I did try and buy a FMIC the other day with 90 degree corners so you can put the fog lights back in off a friend of a friend but it was sold just before I found out. Wanna delete the N75 valve and EGR delete. Mine is lowered but only a little as I can still hit the humps fast. My last vag car was on the floor your couldn't even put your pinky finger between the tyre and wheel arch so after driving that around for a year I wasn't never go that low again.

Like I say no hardcore mods for me just a few quick easy ones to make the car all around more responsive and faster although I've been considering selling it and getting a Vauxhall Astra VXR!!!

Same wheels as me! Looks trick!

another goodwood green here, don't see many of them...
shame its not a touch darker, i would like a proper BRG s3

I do love the car and some days love the green but I'd be liying if I said I didn't want a Imola version.

I am no expert but
drilled disks are apparently all show and no go, as they are weaker than solid
and the n75 is an important part of the whole package, isn't the alternative is an MBC which is frowned upon since the crazy fiat uno turbo days of 1988

I still have one bolted to my chassis - but put back the N75 after I bought the car after advice from the forum experts, the most (albeit too much power/torque for the little engine), I have had from my S3 is running the N75 plugged in backwards - that was more and smoother than the MBC - although still felt like it had hiccups like a 2 stroke motorbike either on or off.

Well my plan was to change the brake fluid and new hoses on it as the brakes on s3/TT are notorious for not being the best. I guessing the brake fulid has never been changed not that I can see in the service history. I was gonna give the RED STUFF brake pads with a fulid change and see if it increases the stopping power first.

My brakes were appalling when I got mine but changed all discs (ATE / COMLINE), pads (Brembo) and fluid (Blue something), I reckon the only real problem was maybe the rears binding - but a bit difficult to know exactly what made the difference. don't forget to bleed the master cylinder and use one of those pressure bleeder devices so as not to damage the master cylinder seals.
I actually had a nightmare with the rear cylinders seized (couldn't screw them back in), so took them off to service them and snapped a front caliper bleed nipple, and broke a 7mm allen key in the front caliper/carrier bolt.

Vauxhall??? Are completely mad, they are absolute rubbish, no comparison at all, in particular the interior.

I know some people think I'm mad but my best mate has got a 08 plate one and yeah the interior is basic in compassion they are fun in a straight line lol

What can I say I still like them bit more modern features s bit bigger I guess it's pros and cons. Before I got the s3 I was gonna buy a Astra GSI 2 litre T.

I've already had the callipers off already as when I got it the brakes where sqeeking. As for bleeding it I do it old school with a blow torch to heat up the sezied nipples, a rubber hose and a milk bottle. I've got VAG-COM to rest pedal if need be!

Vauxhall are just a bit crappy all round, they always seem to be a few steps behind other main stream manufacturers, build quality is not he best either, if you want something like that, the Focus ST is a much better car.

The vauxhalls build quality are a bit Shabby I guess why there so fast. I've always been a fan or German cars. As my mate said once and I quote ( German cars never die)

Them Ford ST engines are Builet prof, 2.5T VOLVO lump but the rest of the car not so good. Most come with cloth seats!! Would have to get a ST-3.

My other option is a MK5 R32 that's back in th safe zone but my fear of them is because there N.A. They drink loads of petrol and I drive far every day! So not sure about that if you ever get the chance to hear a D-car one you will jizz in you pants.

ST is far better built than the Astra, better handling, more tourqe, more tuneable and it doesn't wheel spin all its power away, but you can't beat the quality of an Audi, 1.8t is a truly amazing engine when you consider its age and displacement, still reasonable on fuel too.
