As the title suggests does anyone know the current waiting times at Emden? My A5 coupe has been there a week waiting on a boat to Tyne

I feel your pain... my A4 is sat there too, presumably waiting for the same ship!

Unfortunately, there don't appear to be any imminent arrivals to Tyne (see attached).

Yeah, but that's just one carrier.

Although looking at planned departures from Emden, the vast majority are to Grimsby with the odd one to Sheerness, so that also suggests a serious lack of ships to Tyne!

Has your dealer categorically said that your A5 is waiting for a ship to Tyne? Which dealer? I'd started to wonder if they'd all just come into Grimsby then head further North by road.

My original delivery date was w/c 14/09, but my A4 was built a week earlier than planned, so I'd expect it sooner.

Yeah my dealer (Dundee Audi) and Audi CS have both told me the car is sitting at Emden waiting to be assigned to a boat. Makes sense to me they could go to Grimsby then north by road but I don't know if it works like that?
I was told by CS that if the car sat at Emden for more than 10 days that it goes on to a 'priority' shipping list, like I said that was a week ago so if theres no movement by Friday i'll be giving them another phone.

My dealer has never provided my with a delivery date, but the car was meant to be built week 35 but was actually built week 34.

Mine was scheduled for BW36, but was told on 24/08 that the car was built and had been 'released for shipping'.

Mine will be going to Carlisle Audi.

I suppose it's one of the busiest times of the year to be getting a new one!

Yep thats what i was thinking too! I'll phone CS on Friday and see if they can tell me anything else.

I feel your pain, gents. That was me back in mid-June. It got to the point where I was tuning into Radio 4 longwave for the shipping forecast.

jdp1962 how long did you wait in the end? (Do I really want to know that?)

City Of Paris is now due in to Port of Tyne on Friday morning from Emden! Looks promising!

That wasn't too bad a wait then. City of Paris due in on Friday!! Fantastic! Let's keep our fingers crossed then

@Black edition+ - City of Paris is now safely in Emden... hopefully about to get loaded with our orders before tomorrows departure!

I phoned CS this morning and asked if my car was going on this boat and apparently they don't know its just a matter of first come first served apparently, they cant tell me if its on the boat till its on the boat!?

I think that based on the 'priority list' that they mentioned to you, we'll both be on there. If such a list does indeed exist!

But as there aren't a great number of ships heading to Tyne at the moment, I am pretty confident ours will be on there.

Yeah let's hope so well_cool. Surely they must be on the boat? I just can't understand however that Audi don't know what cars are going on the boat! I think the City of Paris has a carrying capacity around 2500

Just had an email from the dealer (to arrange me going in to finalise the paperwork, which will be this afternoon) - he confirmed that the car was "released for shipping" on 21/08 and Audi "have 14 working days to get it into the UK from that point". Not sure what happens if they don't meet that 14 day target, but the 14th day for me will be 04/09 which is when City of Paris is due in to Tyne.

If ours aren't on there, I'll eat my hat!

All paperwork now signed - told the dealer about my City of Paris theory, which he says sounds spot on.

He advised that if it gets to Tyne this Friday it'll be ready for me by next Thursday/Friday.

I told him to make it Wednesday...!

Well hopefully your theory is right. I suppose given the time of the sailing I won't be able to contact Audi CS or the dealer to confirm if it made it on the boat, so will just have to wait till Friday morning and see if it's arrived.

Arrival at Tyne has been delayed until 14:00 tomorrow (was 06:00). Bet that adds a day to the process.

She is indeed and onboard is my car!!! Give Audi CS a phone to check if your's is there well_cool

I take it your car was on the ferry then well_cool? I wonder how long we will wait on a transporter now??

Don't know for sure yet, still waiting to hear back from my dealer.

Had a slow drive past the dealers yesterday (the gated compound is just behind it) but couldn't see anything that looked like mine :sadlike:

Just had confirmation that it definitely arrived on Friday!

Of course it's now going to take until Wednesday to travel the final 50 miles of the journey... and then will hopefully be ready for collection on Friday (they're just doing a PDI, no prep or valet)... Audi never seem to rush things, do they?!

I did indeed - got her Thursday afternoon! What happened with yours?

She's a beauty. Will get some proper photos up after her 3 day detail next week.

Looking stunning!! I'm Picking it up on Friday. We're away to France today for a few days. Been up to the dealers twice already for a look tho lol

Reopening the Emden delays saga in early Feb 2016. TTS built BW4 and at docks Fri 29 Jan. 2 vehicle carriers have since been and gone to Sheerness (my dealer's nearest port) but my Mythos Black / Express Red is apparently still waiting for a slot. Called Audi CS to be told it's "only" 6 days and could be another 4 days b4 it reaches priority status. She who must be obeyed is happy as she wants to delay collection until March anyway to get new reg (even though putting private plate on it). Still be nice though to know it had arrived safely.

I'm sure she'll be on her way soon. Arguably safer at the ports/on the ship than at the dealers anyway, so maybe no bad thing if you're waiting until March!

My comment today to Audi dealer:
My understanding is that after 10 days a car then becomes "prioritised" - today must be day 8.
His response:
Trouble is so are the other cars that are also waiting so they end up all being priority.

TTS finally reached Sheerness on Friday evening and, my dealer tells me, will be with them tomorrow for collection Sun 6 March. Exciting! Getting Tracker Locate installed, although Audi dealer warned me that any issues with electrical faults caused by a non-Cobra device would invalidate the Audi warranty - they wanted to charge me £500 to supply and fit and guarantee a Cobra device, which doesn't even enable web tracking access.
