Having become free of the company car straightjacket- finally opted out and ordered the car of my choice - long time ambition about to be realised .

S5 Black Edition SportBack

Cannot come round quick enough - after owning two company car spec A5's, and A3 2.0 TFSI S-Line Quattro a few years ago - been in a company car spec 5 Series 2.0d - so cannot wait to own the car I have always wanted.

The wait is horrendous, but fully worth it I assure you!
 
Current Company car lease not expire until 1st June - so initially planned to take the S5 at the same time - then had a day to think about and told the dealer on second thoughts just get it ASAP - looks like end of April - just waiting for build slot details so I can track it - not been this excited about a car in years.

Did you get a good discount?
 
15% off list-but had to push hard - pretty sure there are better deals out there but been using the same dealer for a while so happy with the deal I got.
 
I managed 18%, but I didn't have the ADS options, so list price was cheaper. Imagine you weren't far off the average discount at all!
 
Mines got most of the options and I got 18% and that was via carwow and needing to travel 100 miles to the dealer, so I don't think the options list affects overall discount much. Over the last year I have only seen one report of someone getting more than 18% and that was special circumstances. I think 15% from a local dealer is pretty good.
 
I happy with the deal - know the dealer and literally 10 mins from where I work - in hindsight i reckon could have squeezed for a bit more, I was doing well on negotiation, then test drove it and they could see they had got me ! -
