E-Bay Scams

The majority were once genuine adverts. Scammers steal the write-ups and the pictures, then re advertise the car after the genuine car has finished. They are usually relisted using hacked accounts, thats why the sellers of such scams seem respectable. (On 2 occassions I have had adverts "stolen" from me, once when I sold a car, and another was a car I had purchased which magically re-appeared!).
The scam will work something like this...Dont contact me via Ebay, my Ebay email doesnt work (thats cause its a hacked account), you then contact said scamming monkey via his spoof email account iamascamminggit@hotmail.com, and he then proceeds to inform you that the car is available at this price, providing you paypal/bank transfer money directly to him immeadiately. You do this is the hope you are getting a dream car....and you never see your money again!

I would consider selling my Car on Ebay, many do-Just have to filter out the genuine from the $cammer$

What is so bad about this is that Ebay do not want to know. Akoyamike bought my A4 on Ebay and as he says the car was re-advertised using my ad 3 times. I emailed Ebay and they were not really interested. They suggested I send a 'friendly email' to the seller. Yeah right!! But my experience of selling the car was simple and superb. Would still recommend it.

Ebay don't want to do anything as the whole scamming process reinforces their empire i.e. don't transact business outside the ebay process. As soon as you start contacting sellers outside the relative safety of the ebay site then you're on your own.
