Grrrrr, the EGT probe keeps coming loose and falling out, it's happened 4 times now in the last 1300 miles. I've tried thread lock aswell but still no joy.

Does anyone have any ideas how to stop it coming loose, it's seriously frustrating.

TIA, Steve

When the nut is nipped up does the probe still rotate freely?

Tbh Bill I'm not sure how I could do it that way, can't drill the thermocouple as It might damage the core (or have I got the wrong idea, lol)

someone suggested re tapping it. Could that work maybe?

Thanks, Steve
the nut would be the thing to try drilling.. lol.. not the thermocouple for obvious reasons..
but if done up tight its pretty odd it comes loose, especially if the thermocouple if being clamped tight on its ferrule

Lol, I thought I must have the wrong idea there, yes its very strange as it all feels nice and tight, only thing I can think of is that the probe was vibrating against something, I really don't know.

I was planning on fitting a new probe soon when I can convince myself to fork out the £240 for a new one so I'll see if thats any better otherwise I'll try and drill and wire the nut.

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated

Steve
