Hey everyone,

Purchased the 2008 S3 in white recently but having problem with the engine cover. As you can see the engine oil cap is all the way down. Is there a problem with the cover? the oil cap? Need help with this :crying:

Did you remove it, and are now trying to replace it?
Or, was it supplied with the car.

Looks like it needs fully pushing on, I find starting with front left corner facing car then round each corner anti clockwise worked best for me... it is a b*tch to get back on though! If it was supplied like that, take it back and get them to do it!!!!

Thanks for the help guys. I got the engine cover to sit properly on all corners now but there is still a gap where you have to reach in to open the engine oil cap. Does it need a extender or maybe its not the original filler cap?

Have you got a picture of the filler cap? It is raised, like you say, on an extension.

Not the best picture of the filler cap, but you can see how it extends

Assuming its the one thats always been on the car take it off carefully. Pulling at the back corners first. Then pull the middle on each side (don't pull or push the front all black bit as this is the most fragile.
Remove any rubbers that are still on the four mounts on the car and put them onto the engine cover.
Once done the cover should push on quite easily once you've aligned with the mounts. The cover should sit flush against the engine filler cap.

Thats it! Engine cover is on properly now but filler cap is just seems like a temporary one. Where can I buy that one in the picture thats raised?

Thank you for the pic that clears it all out now.

The raised part is attached to the cover, the cap is just a standard one.
I don't know if you can but the extension but there must be a reason why yours is missing?

Thats what I dont understand. There is clearly space there for the extension but I guess I just have to look around for it or ask Audi if they can supply it. Cant seen to find it on Ebay or any other site online.

From your third picture, looks like one of your rubber grommets is torn - you'll need to screw on a new one (and that should snug up the front).

The filler neck has been removed its a mod you do when you fit a induction kit, there glued in theres not a lot you can do apart from get a new valve cover
