Anyone on here running a GFB DV+ on their s3? Thinking of getting one on my 2012 s3 to work with my revo stage 1 map and Oem Rev D valve.

Anyone have experience with this? And pictures of the DV+ fitted

I've just had one turn up in the post but not had it fitted yet. They're meant to be the best option I believe. Do a search on here I'm sure it's been covered before.

When are u looking to fit it? Where u order from?

Mine is a 2008 got it from eBay (demon tweeks) everywhere seemed roughly the same price but wish I'd of waited to try and sort out a group buy I think there's a few on here who would want one.
I'm not fitting till the end of the month along with my revo induction kit and engine cover.

Just ordered one so have to see what's like once fitted. Looks like a right squeeze on my s3 as pipes in way

I got it on my s3. Works great. I think it's the best dv i've tried.

Mine turned up today, From AMD, superb service, ordered at the weekend.

Fitting asap... following this...

... and the instructions in the box, can't be that hard!

It's easy to fit on the k04 as the dv is right there under the engine cover at the front.
Should be no more than a 20 minute job.
Just make sure you oil the brass piston slightly as it can stick if not

That video is for the A3 as the dv is down by the turbo on those. The S3 is far easier

Cool, so my turbo is under the engine cover, 2008 pre facelift s3 8p, not by the front wheel?

Lol, the turbo is down the back off the engine but yes take off the engine cover and the dv is right there.
The pipe that attaches to the left side of the engine cover goes to the dv

Cool, saved me taking the wheel off and thinking I'd lost the turbo! Feels underpowered, but not that underpowered!!!

Haha the turbo is in the same place as the A3, it's just the dv is in a different place

My cover is removed anyway as I have a revo intake fitted. The space where DV+ goes looks tight as pipes really close to it

All S3 has ko4 turbo which has DV on the top. A3 TFSI has ko3 turbo which has DV on bottom of turbo which is what I have in my video

It's easy to fit on the s3 ,quite a clever design too ,turbo is s bitch to get too wouldn't even think about fitting a downpipe etc on your drive

I relocated mine on the Ko3 to make life a lot easier in case i needed to get to it again

Ever tried to replace a diverter valve on a a3 tfsi Quattro - now that's a b***h

Looks like the K04 DV to me...? Engine cover still on... any tips on loosening anything to get good access to all bolts?

Well mine arrived this morning from AMD Tuning, ordered it Tuesday night. Superb service, will get it on tonight and report back

Sweet!! Removing from k04 should be easy! Prob remove engine cover for real access and a 1/4 ratchet for torx/Allen bolts

In... not tested it out yet, later on... Not a guide, just a few pics I took on the way through, there are proper guides out there.

Assembling is easy, just take apart the old part, pull out the plunger part, and assemble using instructions with GFB part, making sure to oil piston. My DV was/is a rev G, and had no splits, I'm still happy to have changed it, should def be able to tell if there is difference! Gonna stick it in the for sales and see if someone wants it.

As far as fitting, I would advise taking off engine cover as this isn't hard and you get a bit more room to push things out the way.

I started to undo the circled bolt (below pic) then realised that's not part of the DV so don't bother! The far bolt is a little tricky, so best to use an extension or two on your ratchet (I used a mini ratchet), torx out, hex back in. be careful of the stock yellow o-ring, it is brittle (well mine was) and the jigging and poking about to get the DV seated again does tend to loosen the clicked in position of the GFB part to the stock DV body which unseats the o-ring and makes it easy to snag and slice it. Also be careful of the far bolt, very easy to drop when trying to locate it in the hole (I did try locating it first, then seating the DV, then doing up the two near bolts, but this generally unseated the GFB part from the body and I had to start again.) Eventually got it in by doing the two nearest bolts, then pushing that pipe you can see above the red circle and squeezing the third bolt in and tightening by hand, then ratchet.

Fitting difficulty rating for a novice driveway "mechanic" - 6/10 (just because of the far bolt position, smaller hands may make it easier!)

If you take the engine cover off, you can change the air filter too, I did... yuk!

Hope this helps anyone new to it this stuff like me, first mod! Getting petrol later so am going to get it warmed and give it a blast to see if I notice any difference!

It really is best to take off the engine cover unless you want to have grazed knuckles and a chewed up edge to the engine cover. I fitted one of these over 2 years ago - excellent

No need to remove engine cover.
Loosen all bolts inc the one on the bracket , remove it so you can work on DV easier. Then remove the 3 DV bolts. Follow inst in the kit (wipe oil on piston). Replace with longer bolts, replace bracket bolt.
Go for a drive..

Is that the filter you removed? It's a K&N by the looks of things. Give it a clean and re-use it?

Oh crap. Did they send you the wrong one or something?

Nah just fort would use the money on something else
