Just looking for a little info / advice, as been hearing mixed opinions, basically looking to go Stage 2+ in the next month or so and onto a TTE420 on my 2009 S3 8p 2.0 tfsi later on in the year..

Looking to buy a uprated Intercooler, so far from what ive read Pro Alloy, Peron and Airtec all seem to have great reviews and drastically improved intake temps especially in hot weather / hard use, but ive also heard that a custom wellycooler will perform even better...

So in terms of performance only which is the better option to go for?

Any info / advice would be greatly appreciated

cheers

I think personally you've answered all there is, All of the above are fantastic products.

I think it just comes down to budget/personal choice, For me I'm looking to go with a fully custom wellycooler and hard pipe.

All good coolers there and you would have no problem with any of them. Also for consideration is the Wagner. If I remember correctly the Wagner and Pro Alloy have similar sized cores and are slightly larger than the others listed, both would serve you well on TTE420 setup.

ProAlloy here.....works fine with a GTX3582,so it can't be bad.....

Where are you getting your pipe work made up for the welly?

Hi Alex,

Do you know if the pro alloy is a direct replacement on the facelift s3 8p?

I know some trimming of the crash bar is required for some of the coolers designed for the prefacelift?

Tried searching but cant seem to find an answer?

Cheers

If you're anywhere near AMDTUNING they may be able to help.

Mine is a pre facelift model (like its owner) and there are no problems with that.

That's for forge twintercooler. I had it probably first fitted on facelift, an we had to trim crash bar, and some other parts, and make some custim pipes on the left side. All other coolers fit at the place of the oem unit i think.

Airtec Stage 2 on mine for TTE420 setup, great piece of kit and very well built.
