Hello everyone and happy new year!

Does anyone have part numbers for front brake pads for an Audi A3 Sportback, 2.0tdi (BKD) [05] engine. When I look on the eurocarparts site its showing three versions!

Give euro parts a ring and they will tell you pal, ordered mine yesterday, otherwise it will tell you in the info slip in your spare wheel well, I say just ring them and they look through the Audi database

cambaines how much where your geuine audi break pads? I need to replcae mine and im thinking of getting the fredo premier pads instead of the oem ones. but im new to cars and open to suggestions

Hi mate I went for Brembo from euro parts, they are an OEM equivalent, Audi pads are just as good, I've always used pagid in the past and never had issues, I would say Brembo are on the same level, I paid £52 with discount (January voucher code) from europarts, the next step up to make any difference in my view would be to get green/red stuff from EBC, these are ceramic pads so you will get a lot less brake dust but you pay for it! I don't track my car and I don't really leather the brakes too often so there OTT for me, only benefit would be the less dust on my wheels but I couldn't justify the cost for it!

Ferodo pads are meant to be a good make though, but again I'm sure there just OEM equivalent, I don't actually think Audi charge stupid for there pads unlike every other part! Euro parts is just easy for me

thanks for your advise i will look into getting the ones youve ordered

theres no such thing as "genuine" pads, it's whoever can supply a bulk amount of pads at any time. one month it may be pagid, the other ferodo.

you definitely don't need ebc or brembo on a 1.6 petrol, the ferodo premiers i suggested on your other thread are sufficient for your car.

Brembo are the same price as pagid mate, OEM equivalents, unless your driving it hard I agree that you don't need expensive pads

ok darren thanks. im just trying to work out whats best value and wont wear out. your quite right im only driving a 105bhp car but im a firm beliver of you get what you pay for.

Just my first car and i want to be putting the right parts on it when it goes wrong. thanks for all the advise

If you drive a 1.6 then why are you also asking what needs to be done to a 2.0tfsi to get it to 270 bhp? Haha

ferodo premiers aren't bad and are enough for what your car is capable of. anything dearer and you'll be wasting money.

i've done 80k on a set of front pads in my 1.9 tdi, they only wear out if you're sore on them and brake late and heavy.

Rang eurocarparts earlier they looked up and said ZE pr number and quoted £23.05 for pagid so going with them! Seems cheaper than on website as that's £27 something maybe they applied Jan voucher code ;)
