as above ive been looking at fitting an rsne but these units dont look too bad with all the stuff theyve got fitted to them but ive heard that they can be laggy or play up etc?
does anyone have or use one on here as ive seen them for prices like £200 and they look factory fitted too which is nice and alot less than an rsne too!

Are thy easy to fit..any wiring or anything? Or is it just a case of plug and play??

Wonder how solid they feel, if
You get a warranty surly worth a try?

I've only ever seen one of these type units fitted and to be honest the fit was terrible, just didn't look right.Granted they weren't the ones listed but the same sort of thing.
If you are looking for a better alternative than the RNSE look at the Kenwood or pioneer sets, I have a Kenwood DNX 5249bt, far more advanced than the RNSE and does all I want it to do.

There are quite a few versions and the processors vary as does the built in memory.

There are also android and wince versions, with the wince versions being the fastest..

There is a Hugh thread on them in the B7 area on Audizine

I had an Xtrons unit in the old car and it was very laggy, the satnav would freeze up, the radio antenna wasn't compatible so i never got radio reception, the sound quality wasn't brilliant and it didn't really match the original dash colour. On the plus side the bluetooth worked well and you could connect up a reversing camera. I wouldn't buy another one.

wowzers thats a read all those pages and im still just as confused lol, there seems to be alot of different head units to choose from, i dont have a bose system or steering wheel controls, im gonna keep researching but i had one in my van a few years ago that was painfully laggy and slow but recently my parents bought a mk5 golf that had an aftermarket unit fitted and was very responsive and the options just went on and on but the bluetooth was nicely set up so thats why its got me wanting one for the wifes car over an aging rnse now.

No experience on the ones in question, however, i spent a long time in the car audio trade my experience of these sort of units are generally pretty bad, they feel cheap they're mostly laggy and the sound quality is normally shocking and not exactly reliable.

Upto you but i personally i would keep well clear.

Lol I just bought one. I will be installing it this weekend. I got the DAB+ module to go with it as well. I'll report back in my own thread. First impressions (uninstalled) are very good.

Sweet! Look forward to some pics and your review on it

I just bought an RNSE unit in the end as there were so many variables out there..........keep me posted on the progress as DAB+ was the main pulling power towards those units.

When I did mine years ago I had to think about what I wanted the unit to do. At the time my daughter was watching DVDs more in the car so the kenwood system was for me as it has zone control which ment you could split the sound in the vehicle so I could listen to music in the front and my daughter could listen to the DVD in the rear. For me it was the sat nav, digital TV tuner and Bluetooth that sold it for me. As long as it does what you want it to do then go for it.
