Hi Guys,

Has anyone done a resonator delete on their S3? Tried the search but it seems to be broken, so sorry if this has already been discussed.

Thanks,

K

Has no one ever done this? Just want to know the experience of someone who has, noise improvement, drone etc

Exhaust resonator?

I've done this.
It will definitely be louder and expect some drone around 3500-5000 rpm.

do you mind if i ask roughly how much i would be looking to pay? and was it worth it as in living with the drone?

Thanks

Won't be much to simply cut out and replace the box with some pipe.

On mine it was done for performance but it is loud.

The best of both worlds is obviously a BCS system.

cheers for the help i will have to give it a go and worst case i can put it back on. :)

Had the delete done the other day and i think it sounds quite good not too loud but for the cost its a very cheap mod for a much nicer sound.

Made a little video if anyone wants to hear it:

sounds good, needs a fly by video really...

Yep agreed got that planned for the weekend so will upload on saturday hopefully

I took the centre box out and fitted an Rs3 rear box and it sounds lovely between 3500-5000 you can hear when flaps open n get a nice deeper sound

Do you get any pops and bangs?

Hi Mate,

If i had to do it again i would probably get a catback instead if it is noise that you are after. You can buy a milltek use it and then still sell it for a small loss compared to the £90 i paid to get the resonator removed.

It does pop when its cold and occaisonly when i drive it will pop but not the pops and bangs i would have like but that obv not what i did it for just a by product of my setup.

i have a video here: on cold start revving to around 3-4k

Is this video with only a res delete or have you got custom map and other hardware on too?

Do you know what size clamp you need for a reversible resonator delete?

I’ve finally done a resonator delete to add to my downpipe and catback. All I can say is that it’s probably too loud, even when you aren’t accelerating much. It now sounds like a ricer. Any recommendations on how to whiten it down a little on low acceleration?

Any drone ?

Vibrant resonator. The bottle type should suffice. I have it in mine. No drone
