Interior light pack missing - RS3 as courtesy car

It has to be the RS6!

I have driven the RS7 at an Audi event and it is simply insane. The only downside will be that you will not want to give it back!

Same here, drove an RS7 at a recent Audi Sport event and would go for the RS6 as it wont be so much of a sofa on wheels

I might take some things out of my car, tell Audi they were missing on delivery and see if I can get an R8 for the weekend.

You reckon if I took the engine out, they'd believe me?

Probably damage something else in the process of fixing it.

I've stopped using Northampton Audi. I used to spend £250 per month on parts (terminals, connectors and lighting) for the last 2 years but ordered a load, went in to collect and was waiting for around 40mins, told the receptionist to which she replied there is nothing we can do so walked out, got a call later letting me know the parts where in to collect which I already knew and told them to shove them as I have a TPS account and they deliver for me.

They must be gutted as they where back order items so they go into their own stock and loose out as I know they won't be able to sell them.

Yeah, take the RS6 out for a spin...........................and wrap it round the nearest tree. I'll bet you they get they're finger out their backside and fix that a bit quicker!!

@Andyescos - RS6 looks great buddy! 'Right' colour too ;) :D

I will say one thing. You are a very patient man with your probs on your S3. I can't hoenstly say whether I would have been as patient as you have been, even if they had lent me a RS3 & RS6
Not that patient, waiting for Audi to come back to me with a solution to all the problems.

So what's the RS6 like Andy? I'm sure most know it's mighty powerful machine but how fast does it actually feel given it's a much bigger car than the S3?

First thing is it's big. When i first got in it after dropping the S3 of I wonder how it would get on with it, especially driving round the country lanes round where I live.

Had to go to Stratford on Avon for works party - 100 mile round trip - managed to give it a good run on the motorway. In comfort mode it's a nice tourer, 85 mph is only about 2000 rpm and it's nice and quiet, but that was too sensible.:whistle2:

In dynamic and using the paddles you soon forget the size, the torque/power is ferocious, the sound is really addictive, this one had the sports exhaust so it sounded like anti lag on a rally car, especially driving through the local forest. The acceleration is relentless, did find the gearbox to be not quite as quick change as the S3 thou.

Also found the steering a little awkward as it seemed to need a lot of lock, to get round t-junctions etc.

Not sure how long I'd have a licence for if I had it to keep.

I've only done about just over 200 miles and it will have used £70 of fuel, it's only done 900 miles and the long term mpg is only 15.

Suppose if you can afford an £85k car then you probably wouldn't worry about the fuel.

Sounds like you had fun ....now lets hope they sort you out with your car

Did manage to get 22mpg on Friday driving to work, but that was before I was comfortable with it.

I'd not have cream seats - but other than that that thing is perfect.

Would have sell the house and live in the boot to be able to afford one though!

Yet another missed option from Northampton.
I don't know what they do when they submit the order but they seem very good at missing options!! The staff must be on another planet! That's about 5 separate incidents I know of this year including my saga at the start of the year.
I really wanted to build a good rapport with them as they were good on discount but I will never use them again.
Took a lot of fighting with them to come to a sensible and acceptable conclusion.
Had they been fair with the resolution from the start then I would have carried on using them, we all make mistakes, however this is just getting silly now.

Maybe someone needs to write a stern letter to their dealership manager..............if there's 5 or so on this forum alone you'd imagine the number is much higher in total !!

Sorry to be off topic OP - sorry to hear about your S3 but nice to have a spin in a few other motors!

@Daveotto How do you go about getting a drive in such Audi's? What is the Audi Sport event you mention? Feel free to drop me a message if it's too much info

How did you find the seating position/setting in the RS3 compared to the S3.
I jumped in several yesterday A4, New A4, S3 and RS3 and I was setting my seat position to see what my son's legroom would be like in the back if I swapped from my A4 to an S3 Saloon.

In the RS3 I struggled to get the seat comfortable and wasn't convinced I had it set right. Whereas in the S3 I just jumped in twiddled a bit and was sorted. The only difference I could spot was the S3 had electronic lumber, the RS3 just had manual base & rake.

For reference I feel like I am sat lower in the A4 compared to S3 (although they did not have a saloon to try) and the rear legroom, with the exception of the New A4, was nigh on immeasurable between all models.

The RS3 had super sport seats, which looked nice but sure they offered much over the standard seats I have in the S3, didn't really notice that much between them.

Thought I better give an update.

After the centre console was replaced because of the damage, the light around the cigarette lighter wasnt working. So finally got round to taking it in today and guess what, it's not the light or the fitting, so they've got to take the console out again.

Have been tryng to reject it Northampton Audi/Audi don't seem to think the problems are that bad.

Northampton did offer to replace it, as long as I gave them 7k, which I politely refused.

So after today will be meeting with them all again, especially as it also now has start/stop fault.

So another big fail by Northampton Audi, would be nice if they could just complete one job without doing any other damage.

Oh dear mate sorry to hear about your continuing issues - must be a right PITA !!!

Think it's made my mind up tho to take mine to Coventry Audi for its service in next couple of weeks.

Sympathy....They (Audi main dealers) dont seem to be very good at fixing problems

Had mine in 4 times for a rattling door ! Did sort it in the end but its hard work

Had my heater display console replaced first time due to loss of pixels

and the vacuum in the coolant system sorted on the second attempt !

Sorry to hear you still got problems from Northampton Audi, have you put a suitable review on the garage/dealer review section.

Lost count of the times I've been in, thought I'd only be there for 30 mins while they changed the bulb, ended up being there for nearly 3 hours, and ended up coming home in a Q3.

Sorry to hear you still got problems from Northampton Audi, have you put a suitable review on the garage/dealer review section.

Was going to once it all gets sorted,

Finally got to a satisfactory outcome with all the issues with the car. Just ordered a Sepang RS3.

Between a contribution from Audi Uk and Northampton accepting the whole thing hasn't been up to the standards expected from Audi, I'm basically paying the difference from what I originally paid and the difference for the RS.

Only downside is now got to wait until Aug/Sept. Least it's restored my faith in the Audi brand and Norhampton came good in the end.

Hope the one is 100% correct

Without turning this into a facelift/RS3 thread don't ye think it's a bit hasty or are you happy just to get this sorted?

Not worried about the facelift, there's always something new coming along, and after a year it's nice to not be arguing with Audi.

@Andyescos - Good for you mate. Bet your looking to that!

If there is a facelift & it is a big if, me thinks your new RS3 will facelifted anyways
