Got into my car this morning and as I was driving as normal after about 5 min's "this is abit cold" heating was on 22C so usually its nice and warm but nope it was ****** freezing, put my hand over the air vents and the 2 by the car doors (driver's and passenger's) work and the middle 2 above the radio there's nothing coming out of them. So I played around with the buttons to check it wasn't me been tired and thick but no still nothing, I even checked to see if they was "on" and not turned off themselves but there certainly "on"

Car is 1.2 S-line 3 door

HELP... anyone any ideas, its fecking cold and I don't know what else I could try... it's abit cold now so I want it sorting ASAP.

Cheers people.

Temp sensor? I had similar by both drivers side ones being cold a few weeks ago, Audi tracked it to be a sensor , done under warranty, so no idea of cost.

Mines 5 but luckily used approved warranty, they're replacing my sat nav today, glad I bought it from audi

Silly answer but maybe they are closed? The bezel around the vent twists left and right to open and close the vents...??

Do you have warm air when diverting the flow to the windscreen or the footwell outlets? with the fans going.

I've had 2 8p's, first a 170 tdi and an S3 and I can't remember much ever coming out of the middle 2 vents. I've always put it down to a poor airflow design, but it hasn't bothered me yet. Maybe try closing both of the side vents and set the air to 'face' setting and see if anything comes out then. If the air comes out of them then it'll be bad design.

On the 2 BMW's I've had, the same central 2 top air vents had a separate control for hot and cold to the rest of the car and only really worked whilst on the move so could they also work under similar conditions in the Audi?

@Andy Crooks I tested this last night. Assuming you have climate control with the dual settings here.
If you are using the Auto setting then it seems that not much comes out of the vents at hand level at all, but if you close the vents by the windows you should feel the air coming through the main vents just not much.
If you set the air direction to the middle setting this is going to blow air through the vents all at hand level, now close the window vents again and you should have all the air coming through the middle vents.

Have a thorough read of the Handbook about the climate control. It does seem your heating is working ok by what you say. Mine doesn't throw out much heat from the centre dash vents either and thats on both the wifes A3 or mine.
