Hi everyone,

Appreciate this may be the subject of another thread somewhere however it is difficult to find solid, helpful and current advice when trawling through some threads which can be up to a few years old now.

Background info:
Purchased my A3 2.0Tfsi from a main Audi dealer brand new in 2008. Car has a full service history, albeit not always from the Audi garage themselves. Engine code is CCZA. Current mileage is 57k.

After being stored in my garage for 2 months whilst I was away with work, it started and ran fine for 2 days then, after I'd left it sitting outside for another day, it turned over and wouldn't start. Local garage has confirmed the timing chain slipped and the valves hit the pistons - pictures below to prove this...

After reading the forums it does appear to be a common fault with the CCZA engines - which I've now accepted and moved on from - although it has left a bitter taste, as you can imagine...

My question is - does anyone know a reputable engine rebuild company who won't rip me off and rebuild this, or supply a reconditioned engine and give me some form of feeling to say it won't happen again?

I've been trawling eBay and various scrap dealers for the past two weeks to find a replacement engine or rebuild service with no luck so far.

I'd appreciate any advice anyone can share, thanks.

Have you tried ebay.de? There are quite a few for sale although you'd need to get it shipped. I have no idea of the cost of these engines but, what would expect to pay for one here and what would you expect to pay for a rebuild?

I have the same engine in my audi I've also looked for an engine just out of interest really. I've only ever seen one on eBay and the guy was asking £2000 for it.
Mine has started to rattle on start up a bit I'm just hoping I can get it done before it goes
