Hi everyone,

So i've brought HID kit online from www.hids4u.co.uk for my Audi A3. Now im aware of the wiper motor blowing out due to HID so i got the harnes and everything. Anyways I had the HID's fitted today. And they work fine. I brought the Xzenon 5000K pure white ones. Anyways heres where i have the problem.
For some reason the HID's keep changing from Pure white to yellowish look. Like how you get the yellow old style light bulbs. When i switch my car on, and turned the headlights on, they stay white for about 30 seconds and then turn yellow.

Does anyone know the possible reason for this and have they came across this issue before?

Please reply.

Thanks

P.S.
Am kind of new to this forum so forgive me if i've posted in the wrong place, also i'm new to car modifications so if I have spelt anything wrong forgive me.

You should of got the 6000k which is pure white and is the legal limit. 5000k is not 100% white so would give you the yellowish tinge you are seeing. Try return and swap the bulbs

This is completely wrong info

6000k is blue !

5000k is closest to pure white

4300k is oem which gives off the yellow tinge

Well what I meant really was in terms if his post where it was giving off yellow, you will notice with 5000k more compared to 6000k, it does look bluey but an ice blue this is a pic I found as an comparison

Well when i start my engine theyre pure white 5000k but after 30seconds they change to yellow not sure why

Hi everyone,

So i contacted HIDS4U and explained to them the problem. They advised me it shouldn't be like that and are sending me out a replacment bulb set for free. They asked if I would like them in 5000k or 6000k i requested for 6 because the DRL / sidelight bulbs i have fitted are 6 anyway so it will match.

Thanks everyone for all your help

Should've done it properly and fitted OEM Bi-Xenons ;)

I hope that fix's the problem. That's pretty good customer service. Let us all know the outcome once you have them fitted.

Anyone know where to locate the bi xenons headlights from s3 pre 2009 (mines 2007) emailed few breakers but no lights. Are they plug and play as well or does it require some cables/coding etc?

It will require loom adapters and coding with vcds

I had halogens in the TT and retro fitted oem bi xenons with led DRLs
Best mod I've done by far
